The brief break ended, and the second quarter began. Both teams sent in their bench players.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, of course, kept Su Yi and Damon Jones on the floor to lead three bench players.

When Su Yi and Damon Jones saw that LeBron James wasn't out there, they could barely keep the grins off their faces.

Su Yi went 4-for-4 from three-point range, stunning everyone!

"Double-team him!"

The Minnesota Timberwolves' head coach sprang out of his chair and shouted from the sideline.

The Minnesota Timberwolves immediately sent two defenders to double-team Su Yi.

"Damon!"

Su Yi called out to Damon Jones.

Damon Jones understood at once and immediately directed his teammates to get moving.

With Su Yi drawing the defense, they had the equivalent of a four-on-three advantage on offense.

After one or two passes, someone was left open for a shot.

His teammates kept knocking down their shots with ease.

Damon Jones's assist total climbed rapidly, and the team's score kept rising.

In just half a quarter, the Cleveland Cavaliers scored 22 points.

Their offensive efficiency was off the charts!

The fluid offense sent the fans at Quick Loan Center Arena into a frenzy. They cheered wildly for Su Yi and Damon Jones.

Some fans couldn't help wondering: Why was the bench's offense better than the starters'? Weren't the starters led by the chosen one, LeBron James?

Others thought about it more deeply: Why had Su Yi and Damon Jones looked so fluid on offense in the first quarter? Had the starters been holding them back?

To be honest, Cleveland Cavaliers fans weren't stupid.

Like the boy who cried wolf, if you kept saying something over and over, people eventually stopped believing you!

People liked to believe what they saw with their own eyes.

They could clearly see that the Cleveland Cavaliers were more efficient with Su Yi and Damon Jones leading the way.

"Timeout!"

The Minnesota Timberwolves called for a timeout.

When Su Yi and Damon Jones returned to the bench, Mike Brown immediately embraced them and said, "Su, Damon, great job!"

To be honest, Mike Brown was a defensive coach. Offense wasn't his strong suit.

When the offense had struggled last season, all he could do was give the ball to LeBron James.

But this season was different. He had more options!

When play resumed, both teams made substitutions.

The Cleveland Cavaliers took out all their bench players except Su Yi and sent in the starters.

Mike Brown wanted to see how Su Yi would do alongside the starters.

Eric Snow was thrilled to learn that he'd be sharing the court with Su Yi.

Watching Damon Jones rack up assists from the bench had made him downright jealous.

But once he stepped onto the court, Eric Snow realized things weren't quite what they seemed.

Su Yi wasn't running around like he had before. Instead, he was parked in the corner.

And what about him? He was back to being a point guard without the ball.

The Cleveland Cavaliers' fluid offense ground to a halt, much to the frustration of the fans in the arena.

The fans couldn't help asking, "Why?"

Quite a few of them already knew the answer.

With the Cleveland Cavaliers' starters back on the court, the game once again became a close contest, just like in the first quarter.

They traded baskets, neither side giving an inch.

"Beep, beep."

The first half ended.

58–48.

The Cleveland Cavaliers went into halftime up by 10 points.

After seeing how different the second quarter had been, Mike Brown couldn't help thinking it over. He finally understood why Su Yi didn't want to join the starting lineup.

There was no denying that LeBron James was a talented player.

But his style of play was that of a ball hog.

It seriously limited Su Yi's impact.

Mike Brown didn't have a good solution for the moment. After all, LeBron James ranked above Mike Brown in the pecking order here!

Still, Mike Brown could stagger their minutes so LeBron James wouldn't interfere with Su Yi's performance as much.

Su Yi was practically their secret weapon!

Mike Brown was full of hope for the season.

Halftime ended, and the second half got underway.

The Minnesota Timberwolves inexplicably went cold again, and the whole team started missing shots.

Yet somehow, the Cleveland Cavaliers failed to build much of a bigger lead.

The reason was that GM LeBron kept driving inside and shooting from outside. Clang, clang, clang! He was missing everything!

He was about to knock the rim crooked.

Su Yi, sitting on the bench, couldn't help laughing. Was LeBron trying to become the Iron King even faster than he had in his previous life?

With just over three minutes left in the third quarter, Mike Brown waved his hand and took LeBron James and Eric Snow out, sending Su Yi and Damon Jones in.

Big Z and Drew Gooden seemed to come alive at once.

With Su Yi drawing defenders and Damon Jones setting them up, Big Z and Drew Gooden got plenty of chances to shoot.

The two of them scored all of the team's remaining points in the third quarter.

They opened up a 15-point lead.

81–66.

The Cleveland Cavaliers went into the fourth quarter up by 15.

When LeBron James saw that his stats weren't looking so impressive—

After three quarters, he had just 23 points, five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block.

He immediately asked to go back in, and Mike Brown had no choice but to agree.

The fourth quarter turned into the LeBron James stat-padding show.

Seeing that, Su Yi asked to come out halfway through the quarter.

"Beep, beep."

The final whistle sounded, and the game was over.

The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 102–94, winning by eight points.

Their record improved to 8–1, keeping them firmly in first place in the East.

The Efficiency King, Su Yi, played just 26 minutes and racked up 23 points, three rebounds, and one assist to help his team win.

After the win, Su Yi turned and headed straight for the players' tunnel.

"Su! Can I get your autograph?"

"Su, I like you so much!"

"Su..."

As Su Yi made his way toward the tunnel, he heard a group of kids calling out to him.

He stopped and looked up at the earnest little faces in the stands. "Of course, my little fans!"

Then Su Yi signed his name for them one by one.

"Bye!"

After he finished signing, Su Yi said goodbye to the kids and headed back down the arena tunnel.

One of the little fans tugged at his father's hand. "Dad, can you take me to the next game too?"

"Of course, Tyrus!"

The little fan's face lit up with excitement. "Dad, I love you!"

Then he asked his father to crouch down and kissed him on the cheek.

His father burst out laughing at the boy's gesture, unable to stop grinning.

"Hahahaha!"

The little fan laughed too, his laughter as clear as silver bells.

His father picked him up and carried him toward the arena exit.
