The Miami Heat inbounded from the backcourt and passed the ball to Gary Payton, who dribbled across half court.
As soon as he crossed the line, Jason Kapono and Dwyane Wade both cut toward the paint. Wade first set a screen for Kapono, who then ran out to the perimeter.
LeBron James immediately followed him.
Kapono had actually gotten open, but Gary Payton at the top of the arc didn't pass to him.
He wanted to get the ball to Wade.
The next moment, Wade took the opportunity to cut out from the paint.
But Su Yi seemed to have read Wade's intentions. He stayed close behind him, not giving Wade a chance to receive the ball.
Seeing this, Gary Payton lobbed the ball inside to Big Shark O'Neal in the low post.
The moment Big Shark O'Neal caught it, Su Yi fell back to double-team him.
After all, Wade had shot just 26.6% from three that season.
Su Yi was more than happy to leave him open.
Big Shark O'Neal flicked his wrist and passed to the unguarded Wade.
Su Yi didn't immediately rush at Wade. Instead, he waited to see what Wade would do next.
Wade hesitated, then made up his mind. He jumped, hung in the air, and launched a three.
Su Yi made no attempt to contest the shot. He simply watched Wade take the three-pointer.
The ball arced through the air.
"Clang!"
It slammed hard off the back rim and missed.
Under the basket, Big Z and Drew Gooden immediately boxed out, giving the Miami Heat no chance to grab the rebound.
But just as they were about to jump, LeBron James charged in like a beast that hadn't eaten in days, leaped high, and snatched the defensive rebound.
