After Igneel’s death, Ifrit helped restore the dragons, celebrated the Golden Fruit Festival, and sent Fairy Tail into a year of training before its final battle with Zeref and Acnologia. He traveled with Mirajane and Banjou, then reunited with Natsu and Lucy at the Grand Magic Games, where he revealed he was Mirajane’s fiancé.

• Mavis chose Fairy Tail over Zeref, and Igneel gave Natsu the task of defeating Acnologia before dying, and Ifrit and Miko drove Acnologia away, and the dragons left their children dragon fangs as they prepared to return as humans.
• Ifrit restored Minerva and brought her to Simon, Jellal, and Cobra, where she left her old name behind and became Anna, and he later gave Mirajane a pendant made from Miko’s tooth.
• At the Golden Fruit Festival, Ifrit competed, shared photo albums and gifts with the guild, and helped future children who had arrived through his unfinished Eclipse Gate return to their own time.
• Ifrit traveled into the past, encountered Hermes before she became Miko, and learned how she developed Deception Magic and made a contract with him, and back in the present, the restored dragons thanked him for giving them human lives.
• Laxus announced Fairy Tail would disband for at least a year to prepare for Zeref and Acnologia, and Ifrit left with Mirajane, Banjou, and Emily, and guild members departed to train, while Natsu and Lucy traveled with Igneel.
• During the year apart, Gray proposed to Juvia, Evergreen gave birth to Eileen, and Natsu and Lucy developed their magic before reaching the Grand Magic Games in the royal capital.
• Ifrit attended the games disguised as a street magician, and Mavis joined him as Natsu and Lucy appeared as Fairy Tail’s special guests and confirmed their engagement.
• Natsu baited Ifrit into appearing on the commentators’ platform, where Ifrit explained his street-magician journey and Deception Magic, and Mirajane confirmed that she was his fiancé.

Ifrit infiltrated Zeref’s empire, tried to sway Irene and August, and was captured with Emily before Fairy Tail’s allies launched their invasion. The fighting spread across the Western Continent, leaving Emily facing Neinhart and the battle against Serena still underway.

• Ifrit returned to Magnolia, reassured Gray and Wendy, and helped the guild prepare for war before Laxus assigned teams to infiltrate the Western Continent.
• Ifrit infiltrated the Twelve Shields’ meeting, confronted Irene, and later injured her with a blade that broke Acnologia’s curse on her wound.
• Ifrit tried to win Irene and August over, revealed that Mavis was alive in the Mirror World, and learned that August wanted to see his mother.
• Ifrit attacked the Great Sages in the Abyss of Magic, while Fairy Tail publicized Emily’s capture and the Twelve Shields arranged for her and Ifrit to be taken to the capital.
• August fought off Banjou, Alice, Ultear, Melt, Fried, Bickslow, and Elfman as they tried to free Ifrit and Emily, but the attackers were defeated.
• Fairy Tail and its allies invaded Albares, and the Twelve Shields engaged their assigned opponents as Erza’s group faced Irene and Emily challenged Neinhart and Crawford.
• Emily wounded Neinhart and Crawford, drew Ifrit’s sword, and prepared to combine Mugetsu Style with Valier Style.
• Sting and Rogue fought Serena with Yukino and Laki, while Gildarts trapped Wall’s true body and then headed back toward Serena’s battlefield.

Fairy Tail’s fighters defeated the remaining Spriggan 12 and faced Zeref and Acnologia, with Ifrit’s plan turning the tide of the war. After the two enemies vanished, August and Larcade joined Fairy Tail, and the guild celebrated its victory.

• Gildarts defeated Jacob, while Jura defeated Agil and Laxus finally brought down God Serena with Speed’s help.
• Lucy and Brandish learned that Layla had sacrificed herself and that Zoodiar had murdered Grammi, then reconciled as friends.
• Wendy defeated Larcade, Emily defeated August, and Erza fought Irene until Irene lowered her blade, apologized, and died.
• Ifrit used Shared Magic to restore the fighters, then helped Fairy Tail confront Zeref and Acnologia as they overwhelmed the battlefield.
• Ifrit’s plan let Natsu trade his immortality for power, but Zeref tore through Natsu’s chest before Natsu returned as a dual-Ultimate demon and Fire Dragon King.
• Zeref and Acnologia fused into the Abyssal False God, but Ifrit and Miko destroyed its divine form and returned everyone to the real world.
• The Dragon Slayers’ words reached Acnologia, who dissipated, while Zeref apologized to Natsu, Mavis, and August before vanishing.
• August revealed he was Zeref and Mavis’s son, and Mavis welcomed him and Larcade into Fairy Tail as the guild celebrated.
