Background

The Golden Body Realm is the seventh realm of Body Refining. Its attainment marks a qualitative transformation of the physical body: its wielder can contend with Spirit Weapons barehanded, while ordinary attacks struggle to breach its defenses. 426

A Golden Body is the condensed essence of a martial artist’s martial path. Its strength determines the upper limit of a Grandmaster’s combat power, and its height also constrains further cultivation: if the body cannot grow past a bottleneck, its owner’s realm may become stalled as well. 657 848

High-rank martial artists cultivate both themselves and their Golden Bodies. The body inhales and exhales Heaven-Earth Force to increase its height, foundation, and power. 848 850

Appearance

Golden Bodies have no fixed appearance. Their form reflects their owner’s cultivation path, powers, and martial foundation. They may resemble armored warriors, monks, scholars, divine beasts, elemental giants, or other symbolic figures. 758 810

• Their size is measured in zhang, beginning at approximately ten zhang for a newly advanced Grandmaster. 759
• They may manifest in colors associated with their wielder’s path, including gold, azure, crimson, purple, black, and five-colored radiance. 608 758 810
• Many can wield enlarged Spirit Weapons or manifestations of their owner’s preferred weapon. 608 746 911
• The wielder commonly merges into the Golden Body, causing its eyes and aura to brighten as it becomes fully active. 817
• A Golden Body can be humanoid or non-humanoid; recorded forms include a Buddha, a firebird, a flood dragon, and a phoenix. 758 810 961

Abilities & Properties

Combat Amplification

Manifesting a Golden Body produces a qualitative increase in offense, defense, speed, and Heaven-Earth Force control. A Grandmaster who has not activated one is considered incomplete in battle. 608 746

• The body’s defensive power is several times greater than its wielder’s physical body. 748
• Its attacks can carry enormous physical force and the attributes of its owner’s martial path. 608 746
• A sufficiently strong Golden Body can withstand attacks that would otherwise instantly kill lower-ranked martial artists. 746 748
• Its height is not a simple linear measure of power; the combat gap between a ten-zhang and twenty-zhang body is described as severalfold. 759

Fusion and Control

A martial artist may merge their physical body into a Golden Body and control it as naturally as an extension of themselves. 817 818

• The Golden Body mirrors its owner’s movements without delay once the wielder has adapted to fighting through it. 818
• Fusion can sharply raise the owner’s usable power, such as Qin Yan’s mental strength increase while inside the Dark Emperor Golden Body. 817
• Condensation requires time; a sudden attack may prevent a martial artist from summoning their Golden Body in time. 816
• A martial artist may cultivate multiple Golden Bodies, but can merge with only one at any given time. 961

Heaven-Earth Force Cultivation

Golden Bodies absorb Heaven-Earth Force as nourishment, gradually increasing in height and strength. 848 850

• Dense cultivation grounds can dramatically accelerate growth; Qin Yan’s Golden Bodies grew by roughly one zhang every two days in the Heavenly Dao Tower’s Fifth Layer. 961
• Growth becomes substantially harder after ninety zhang, with each additional zhang potentially requiring days or longer even with exceptional resources. 963
• A sufficiently powerful Golden Body can carry a miniature world, allowing that world’s energy to continuously sustain it and enhance its explosive force. 657

Individualized Manifestations

A Golden Body’s attributes depend on the cultivation path from which it is condensed. 758 810

• Dharma Golden Body — Zhao Qingyun’s azure manifestation wielded a Spirit Weapon sword in battle against the Ironback Grey Wolf. 608
• Dazzling Gold Golden Body — Jin Feng’s ten-zhang golden manifestation used metal-aligned power and a giant spear. 746 748 759
• Dark Emperor Golden Body — Qin Yan’s thirty-eight-zhang mental-strength manifestation is shrouded in Darkness Force, wears an imperial crown, and bears three rotating dark halos. 816 817
• Yin-Yang Five Elements Chaos Golden Body — Qin Yan’s Qi Refining Golden Body wears black-and-white Yin-Yang robes and is orbited by five elemental spheres. 835 911
• Eternal Blood Demon Golden Body — Qin Yan’s Body Refining Golden Body is formed from the fusion of his Blood River, Demonic Qi Black Hole, and Supreme Spear Intents. 841
• Rosy Light Golden Body — Liu Qingyin’s seventy-eight-zhang manifestation wields enlarged Cloud Silk and embodies her glow-based power. 818
• Vajra Golden Body — Jin Gang’s sixty-three-zhang body resembles a Vajra Arhat in rune-engraved golden armor. 786

Limitations

• A Half-Step Grandmaster may retain fragments of Golden Body power after a failed condensation, but does not possess a complete true Golden Body. 649
• Golden Bodies can be damaged or shattered by sufficiently powerful attacks, forcing their wielder out of the manifestation. 812
• Their growth rate slows sharply at higher heights, especially beyond ninety zhang. 963
• Cultivating multiple bodies divides time, effort, and resources; only one can serve as the wielder’s active fused body in combat. 961
