Background

The Golden Body Realm is the seventh realm of Body Refining. Its attainment marks a qualitative transformation of the physical body: its wielder can contend with Spirit Weapons barehanded, while ordinary attacks struggle to breach its defenses. 426

A Golden Body is the condensed essence of a martial artist’s martial path. Its strength determines the upper limit of a Grandmaster’s combat power, and its height also constrains further cultivation: if the body cannot grow past a bottleneck, its owner’s realm may become stalled as well. 657 848

Dharma Golden Bodies are described as outward projections of source power after a martial artist first resonates with the Rules of heaven and earth. A deeper martial foundation allows the resulting manifestation to be more solid, taller, and more powerful. 406 618

High-rank martial artists cultivate both themselves and their Golden Bodies. The body inhales and exhales Heaven-Earth Force to increase its height, foundation, and power. 848 850

Golden Bodies can arise from Qi Refining, Body Refining, or mental-strength cultivation. Qin Yan has manifested one from each path; Cangxuan Ye judged all three to have the potential to advance toward Supreme Grade. Cultivating all three to the required limits is a prerequisite for attempting the legendary Supreme Golden Body, though observers regard the undertaking as exceptionally difficult and resource-intensive. 816 835 841 961 966 1061

The Supreme Golden Body is regarded as rarer than Emperor-level powerhouses: an era may produce numerous Emperors without producing a single Supreme Golden Body. Historical records cited no successful manifestation during the preceding Demon Dao Era or during the Ten Thousand Races Era up to that point. Its cultivation requirements are public knowledge, but all three cultivation paths must meet every required height milestone without exception. 961

Appearance

Golden Bodies have no fixed appearance. Their form reflects their owner’s cultivation path, powers, and martial foundation. They may resemble armored warriors, monks, scholars, divine beasts, elemental giants, or other symbolic figures. 758 810

• Their size is measured in zhang. A newly condensed Golden Body can reach at most ten zhang, though some begin below that height; advanced practitioners scale past 550–600 zhang, and Qin Yan’s Yin-Yang Five Elements Chaos Golden Body later reached 935 zhang. 759 843 992 1061 1131
• They may manifest in colors associated with their wielder’s path, including gold, azure, crimson, purple, black, and five-colored radiance. 608 758 810
• Many can wield enlarged Spirit Weapons or manifestations of their owner’s preferred weapon. 608 746 911
• The wielder commonly merges into the Golden Body, causing its eyes and aura to brighten as it becomes fully active. 817
• A Golden Body can be humanoid or non-humanoid; recorded forms include a Buddha, a firebird, a flood dragon, a phoenix, and a colossal black ancient tree. 758 810 961 1039
• Beast-Controlling Sect practitioners Xiao Yutian and Bai Zhi manifested Golden Bodies shaped like a golden tiger and a lightning-marked silver wolf, respectively, reflecting their Fierce Beast forms. 1071

Abilities & Properties

Combat Amplification

Manifesting a Golden Body produces a qualitative increase in offense, defense, speed, and Heaven-Earth Force control. A Grandmaster who has not activated one is considered incomplete in battle. 608 746

• The body’s defensive power is several times greater than its wielder’s physical body. 748
• Its attacks can carry enormous physical force and the attributes of its owner’s martial path. 608 746
• A sufficiently strong Golden Body can withstand attacks that would otherwise instantly kill lower-ranked martial artists. 746 748
• Its height is not a simple linear measure of power; the combat gap between a ten-zhang and twenty-zhang body is described as severalfold. 759
• Height provides combat amplification, though other advantages can overcome a height disparity: Qin Yan’s 560-zhang Golden Body faced Zhao Tianji’s 980-zhang manifestation despite the latter’s advantage in Golden Body power. 1038
• Activation also enhances recovery. Golden Bodies can possess formidable regenerative ability, although specialized sealing techniques can suppress it. 658 748
• Spirit Weapons can expand to match the manifestation. When Qin Yan fought the Gold-Eating Insect King, Mo Yuan became a battle spear several hundred zhang long and channeled his Yin-Yang Five Elements Force. 1063

Fusion and Control

A martial artist may merge their physical body into a Golden Body and control it as naturally as an extension of themselves. 817 818

• The Golden Body mirrors its owner’s movements without delay once the wielder has adapted to fighting through it. 818
• Fusion can sharply raise the owner’s usable power, such as Qin Yan’s mental strength increase while inside the Dark Emperor Golden Body. 817
• Condensation requires time; a sudden attack may prevent a martial artist from summoning their Golden Body in time. 816
• A martial artist may cultivate multiple Golden Bodies, but can merge with only one at any given time. 961
• Multiple Golden Bodies can nevertheless cultivate simultaneously. Qin Yan released his Qi Refining and Body Refining manifestations together to absorb energy from the Jade Marrow Spirit Liquid pool. 1060 1061
• Beast-Controlling Sect practitioners can incorporate their bonded spirit beasts into their manifestations. Xiao Yutian and Bai Zhi merged into their respective Golden Bodies together with the Golden Astral Tiger and Thunder Moon Wolf. 1071

Heaven-Earth Force Cultivation

Golden Bodies absorb Heaven-Earth Force as nourishment, gradually increasing in height and strength. 848 850

• Dense cultivation grounds can dramatically accelerate growth; Qin Yan’s Golden Bodies grew by roughly one zhang every two days in the Heavenly Dao Tower’s Fifth Layer. 961
• Growth becomes substantially harder after ninety zhang, with each additional zhang potentially requiring days or longer even with exceptional resources. 963
• A sufficiently powerful Golden Body can carry a miniature world, allowing that world’s energy to continuously sustain it and enhance its explosive force. 657
• The Heavenly Dao Force of Qin Yan’s fused Cangwu Small World gently nourishes his two Golden Bodies. Its effect is modest at any one moment but considerable over time. 1060
• Abundant Jade Marrow Spirit Liquid enabled Qin Yan’s two bodies to grow from 561 zhang to over 600 zhang in three days, removing the barrier to his Late Eighth-Rank breakthrough. 1060 1061

Heavenly Tribulation Tempering

Heavenly tribulations can temper and enlarge a Golden Body when their destructive power is controlled sufficiently for the manifestation to endure it. Qin Yan used both heavenly winds and black tribulation lightning in the Heavenly Tribulation Wasteland to advance his cultivation. 1126 1129

• Qin Yan reinforced his Yin-Yang Five Elements Chaos Golden Body with Heavenly Dao Force and Water Dao Essence to withstand heavenly winds, while absorbing their Heavenly Dao Force into the Cangwu Small World. 1126
• Stronger tribulation regions offer better tempering effects, prompting Qin Yan to continue toward the wasteland’s Core Zone. 1126
• Against black tribulation lightning, Qin Yan adjusted the protective strength of his Seven-Colored Divine Light so that enough lightning reached the Golden Body to stimulate growth without continuing to destroy it. Individualized Manifestations

A Golden Body’s attributes depend on the cultivation path from which it is condensed. 758 810

• Dharma Golden Body — Zhao Qingyun’s azure manifestation wielded a Spirit Weapon sword in battle against the Ironback Grey Wolf. 608
• Dazzling Gold Golden Body — Jin Feng’s ten-zhang golden manifestation used metal-aligned power and a giant spear. 746 748 759
• Dark Emperor Golden Body — Qin Yan’s mental-strength manifestation (seen at 38, 120, and 330 zhang) is shrouded in Darkness Force, wears an imperial crown, and bears rotating dark halos. 816 817 966 Unlike ordinary mental-strength Golden Bodies, which are energy bodies, it possesses tangible natal weapons. The Dark Vault Scepter is one of three such weapons and further amplified Qin Yan’s mental strength during his battle with Liu Qingyin. 818 819
• Yin-Yang Five Elements Chaos Golden Body — Qin Yan’s Qi Refining Golden Body wears black-and-white Yin-Yang robes, is orbited by five elemental spheres, and grew from over 600 zhang to 935 zhang. 835 911 992 1061 1131 Its formation combined yin-yang qi, Lunar-Solar Spear Intent, Great Annihilation Spear Intent, and Five Elements power; its underlying substance appeared murky and indistinct, resembling unseparated Chaos. 835
• Eternal Blood Demon Golden Body — Qin Yan’s Body Refining Golden Body is formed from the fusion of his Blood River, Demonic Qi Black Hole, and Supreme Spear Intents, scaling to over 600 zhang. Qin Yan has used Myriad Disguise to conceal its demonic aura from onlookers. 841 992 1060 1061 Its dark blood-red form bears black runes and demonic markings, with an Eternal Blood River behind it and a revolving Demonic Qi Black Hole in its chest. 841
• Rosy Light Golden Body — Liu Qingyin’s seventy-eight-zhang manifestation wields enlarged Cloud Silk and embodies her glow-based power. 818
• Vajra Golden Body / Vajra Arhat Golden Body — Jin Gang’s sixty-three-zhang body resembles a Vajra Arhat in rune-engraved golden armor. It carries a golden Vajra Pestle and radiates Buddhist light accompanied by Sanskrit chants. 786
• Nine Netherworld Soul-Devouring Golden Body — Little Black’s 990-zhang manifestation resembles a colossal black ancient tree with winding trunk and hanging dark vines. Black water gathers into a river around its roots. 1039
• Golden Astral Tiger and Thunder Moon Wolf Golden Bodies — Xiao Yutian’s golden tiger and Bai Zhi’s silver-white, lightning-marked wolf each stood 970 zhang tall. 1071
• Azure Water Heavenly Origin Golden Body — Jiang Mian’s 980-zhang manifestation is sea-azure and surrounded by flowing streams. 1075 While being overwhelmed by Qin Yan, she charged it with berserk water currents and drew purple-gold heavenly lightning from the void. 1114
• Phoenix Golden Body — Huang Jiuli’s crimson phoenix manifestation has spread wings and flowing tail feathers. It cultivated on the Heavenly Dao Tower’s Fourth Layer and later reached ninety-three zhang, demonstrating her Peak Grandmaster cultivation and exceptional foundation. 961 981
• Dark Golden Body — Yue Chenyuan’s darkness manifestation stood ninety-eight zhang in the Sea of Time before reaching the ninety-nine-zhang limit following secluded cultivation. 860 878
• Purple Sun Golden Body — Yun Feiyang’s manifestation bears a purple sun above its head and is surrounded by streams of purple sword intent. 801
• Radiant Golden Body — Ye Xiu’s two-hundred-zhang manifestation is sacred gold and radiates Light Power through expanding Radiant Divine Halos. 801
• Arhat Demon-Subduing Golden Body — Jin Chan’s fifty-nine-zhang manifestation resembles a golden arhat seated with palms pressed together, with a revolving Buddhist light wheel behind it. 901
• Bright Sacred Golden Body — Su Zhao’s 980-zhang manifestation appears forged from pure Light Power, bears a golden halo behind its head, and can release a massive god-of-light-like phantom. 1039 1040

Limitations

• A Half-Step Grandmaster may retain fragments of Golden Body power after a failed condensation, but does not possess a complete true Golden Body. 649
• Golden Bodies can be damaged or shattered by sufficiently powerful attacks, forcing their wielder out of the manifestation. 812 Qin Yan’s Great Annihilation Spear Intent shattered Xiao Yutian’s and Bai Zhi’s Golden Bodies in a single attack. 1080
• Maintaining a Golden Body consumes substantial Blood Qi; a damaged manifestation can be dismissed when it is no longer needed. 774 Qi-based manifestations also require a continuous supply of true qi to sustain their form and power, and repeated damage can rapidly drain their energy. 749
• Their growth rate slows sharply at higher heights, especially beyond ninety zhang. 963 At the Eighth-Rank tier, advancing from seven hundred to over nine hundred zhang likewise demands substantially more time and energy under ordinary cultivation conditions. 1131
• Cultivating multiple bodies divides time, effort, and resources; only one can serve as the wielder’s active fused body in combat. 961
• A Golden Body’s amplification can be suppressed. Qin Yan’s Five Elements Heaven-Sealing Seal stripped away much of Jin Feng’s manifested Golden Body power. 749
• Powerful domains and Rule Force can overcome the manifestation directly. Qin Yan suppressed Ye Hen’s and Yuan Li’s Golden Bodies with three Supreme-Grade Spear Domains, then disintegrated them using Rule Force. 1020
• A manifested Golden Body does not prevent its owner from being forcibly subdued. Qin Yan’s Demon Word Heavenly Constitution and Domain Fusion Return to One drove Jiang Mian’s Azure Water Heavenly Origin Golden Body to its knees and cracked its surface. 1114
