Are You Kidding Me?
The staff had no choice but to half-carry, half-lift the person and bring them outside the haunted house.
The sunlight shining on her dispelled the chill that seemed to constantly haunt her.
Shanshan's cold body warmed up considerably.
The staff waiting outside immediately took Shanshan from his hands, saying, "You go and finish your part; we'll watch over her here."
"Alright, then she's yours to handle."
The staff member dressed as a ghost returned to the haunted house.
The staff outside promptly handed her a cup of hot water and draped a blanket over her, asking, "How are you? Are you alright?"
A long queue of tourists was standing nearby, all heading to the haunted house. When they saw Shanshan, they immediately started discussing her with curiosity.
"Hey, what's wrong with that little girl?"
Is it low blood sugar?
"They were probably scared by how terrifying it was inside."
"What's so scary about a haunted house? Even if it is scary, it's all fake."
"Honey, I'm so scared."
Don't worry, I will definitely protect you.
She could hear the gentle comforting voices of her employees, and the noisy laughter outside also reached her ears.
Only then did Shanshan realize that she had finally escaped from that terrible place.
It was like being reborn.
Shanshan immediately pulled the young lady who was gently comforting her. She didn't know how to start the conversation. She had mentioned that there were ghosts in the haunted house, but the staff member thought she was just scared.
Isn't it normal for haunted houses to have ghosts? But the "ghosts" inside are all fake, played by staff members, and some are just props.
What she said will only be seen as her being overly frightened and overthinking things.
"I want to see my friend."
So, Shanshan only made this request.
The young woman outside, unaware of the specifics, said somewhat helplessly, "They'll be out soon after they get through the last hurdle."
I want to see them now.
Shanshan could only make some unreasonable demands.
There was no other way, so the young lady communicated with the control room and finally agreed to let Shanshan go there.
She dropped Shanshan off at the entrance of the control room and left, since the tourists queuing outside still needed someone to manage them.
Sitting in the control room was a man named Liang, the manager of this haunted house. He was somewhat unkempt.
Taking advantage of the air conditioning being on in the control room, he was only wearing a loose black t-shirt and a pair of tacky jeans with a gaudy pattern, giving him a bit of a performance artist vibe.
"I'm sorry to have troubled you." Shanshan apologized as soon as she arrived.
Mr. Liang waved his hand, "No, no, it was our fault for making you stay there for so long. You were one of the previous tourists, right?"
Mr. Liang thought Shanshan had come to complain to him.
"Huh? No, I wasn't in the previous group of tourists."
Shanshan was also confused. "I came to see where my friend is."
Shanshan looked at the monitor screens. Most of the players were gathered together, making it easy to spot them from the dozen or so screens.
"Are you one of these tourists?" Mr. Liang asked, as if he had seen a ghost.
"Hiss, wait a minute, did I miscount before?" President Liang quickly checked the surveillance footage.
On the monitoring screen.
The players have arrived at Lilith's room. After using the key to open the door, they finally entered the most luxurious room in the castle.
A lot of effort was put into the set design of the haunted house. Although it was obvious that most of it was fake, a great deal of work was put into the craftsmanship, decorations, and so on.
It does look quite plausible.
The NPC Lilith, played by a staff member, is lying on a large bed.
Only after the players entered did she slowly get up, as if she had just woken up.
Lilith rubbed her eyes and stretched. "Good morning, Mary."
After she finished speaking, she realized that the people who entered her room were not the maid Mary, whom she knew. "Who are you?"
Chen Ming stepped forward and answered using the clues they had found earlier, "Respected Miss Lilith, we are servants from inside the castle."
"Miss Lilith, there's been some trouble with our castle. Would you please come with us and leave?"
Lilith was somewhat incredulous, but after the others produced proof, she had no choice but to leave with them.
"Wait a minute, where is my father?"
The father Lilith refers to is the true owner of the castle, the Duke who adopted Lilith.
Everyone thought of the "Duke" chasing after them wielding a chainsaw, "You'd better not know."
"Hurry up and leave, or you won't be able to leave."
Lilith, however, refused to leave, saying, "My friends are still here; I want to find them and leave together."
Lilith refused to abandon her friends and flee alone, so the others told Lilith about the events that had transpired in the castle.
"You're saying everyone in the castle has turned into monsters? Mary, Ailia, they all..."
Lilith lay on the bed and cried.
Chen Ming thought to himself, "This staff member is really good at acting, even comparable to those actors. His acting skills are flawless."
And it looks very realistic; every reaction is just like the real Lilith, especially the wig and clothing. If it weren't for that guy, it might have been a great gaming experience.
The others also inwardly admired the staff's dedication and, despite their own less-than-stellar acting skills, continued to play along with the NPCs.
Although one actor appeared to be fully immersed in the performance, their acting was clumsy and they even made mistakes when reciting lines. The contrast between them was unbearable to watch.
However, the story quickly moved on.
Lilith gave up searching for her friend and led everyone to the secret passage leading away from the castle.
Only the Duke and Lilith knew about this secret passage.
Only with their guidance can players find the true exit.
In the control room.
Mr. Liang and Shanshan had deathly pale faces.
They saw from the surveillance footage that there were a total of eighteen tourists playing different roles, acting out the storyline with "Lilith".
That's right, eighteen.
Worried he might have miscounted, Mr. Liang counted several times. "Could it be that the waiter outside accidentally let in an extra person this time?"
Mr. Liang stammered, trying to find a reason.
Shanshan stared intently at the surveillance camera, and in the crowd, she spotted three incredibly familiar faces, one of which was herself.
So Shanshan pointed to the surveillance footage and said, "Who is this person? I don't have a twin sister."
Mr. Liang was drenched in sweat. "You're not kidding me, are you?"
Some tourists are quite mischievous and like to play pranks on the haunted house staff; there are quite a few of these people.
