"Beep."
The elevator arrived at the sixth floor of the guild hall.
"They're here."
A middle-aged man with long hair spoke up. "We'll talk later."
He was Wu Tong, the Chief Instructor of the Yangzhou Guild Hall.
As soon as he finished speaking, the dozen or so people in the sixth-floor training hall all turned to look at Jiang Li and the others. A touch of nervousness showed on every face.
After all, everyone here was a martial artist. Some were even Warrior Level or Warrior General Level.
"Oh? One of them only got his trainee ID yesterday?"
Wu Tong glanced at the information on the handheld computer, looked over the group, and finally fixed his gaze on Jiang Li. "Is he Jiang Li?"
"Chief Instructor, I haven't met him either, but I think so."
Wu Tong replied, "His punch force is 1,320 kilograms, and his speed is 36 meters per second. He's already surpassed the standard for a beginner martial artist."
"Too bad he awakened a little late, but there's still time."
Wu Tong shook his head slightly. Information was projected from the instruments ahead. He walked toward Jiang Li and the others and said coolly, "First up, Tong Guan."
"Interesting. You soldiers are coming to take the Limit Martial Arts Hall's test, too?"
"Yes!"
The bearded Tong Guan answered and walked over to the Punch Force Testing Machine. After taking a deep breath, he swung his right fist in an arc and slammed it into the massive target. The target shuddered slightly.
"989."
"Passed. Next, Luo Feng!"
"Eighteen years old?"
Wu Tong glanced at his identity information and couldn't help sounding surprised. "Old Jiang, when did such a talented kid show up in Yi'an District?"
"Haha."
Jiang Nian laughed heartily. "I didn't expect him to come this time, either."
"Everyone's eighteen at some point. You can only call yourself talented if you pass the test."
A martial artist beside Jiang Nian chimed in.
"Old Liu, at eighteen, he's at least an advanced trainee. What about you? Were you still jerking off at eighteen?"
"Old Jiang knows all about that!"
"Get out of here!"
Jiang Nian strode forward, glanced back at them, and called out, "You're just jealous. Luo Feng, show them what our Yi'an District trainees can do."
"Yes, Instructor!"
Luo Feng answered loudly and walked up to the Punch Force Testing Machine. He turned slightly, drawing power from his waist and legs. His fist shot out like a powerful crossbow bolt, leaving a blur as it slammed into the target.
"Bang!"
His punch landed, and the screen displayed "1,105 KG."
"Great!"
"Impressive! His strength is beyond the martial artist standard!"
"To have that kind of strength at eighteen—he's incredibly talented!"
"..."
Quite a few martial artists praised him.
"Not bad, young man. You kept your center of gravity as you punched, and you used the twist of your waist and legs. There's even some hidden force in there. Good, very good!"
Chief Instructor Wu Tong stroked his chin and praised him repeatedly.
"Haha, and that's not all..."
Seeing the martial artists from the other districts marveling, Jiang Nian threw back his head and laughed. "Luo Feng's combat skills are excellent, too. He beat three advanced trainees just like him in a row, and he did it cleanly!"
Luo Feng looked pleased by all the praise.
"Good. You passed."
Wu Tong nodded. "Next, Bai Yang."
Luo Feng returned to the group waiting to take the test, and everyone started praising him again.
"Not bad, Madman. You've got a great chance this time."
Lu Fei chuckled quietly. "I hope I can catch a bit of your luck and pass, too. Jiang Li, why do you keep staring at the Punch Force Testing Machine? With your strength, you'd pass even if you had an off day."
"I'm not worried about that."
Jiang Li shook his head and rubbed his chin. "Lu Fei, what's the maximum punch force that machine can handle?"
"??? What?"
Lu Fei stared at him, baffled. "Jiang Li, it's the machine for the martial artist test. Maybe three or five thousand kilograms?"
"Mm."
Jiang Li nodded.
This world was dangerous, but Hanxia Kingdom was still safe compared with other countries.
The earlier you showed your talent, the more resources you'd receive.
"Last one, Jiang Li!"
Since Jiang Li had only submitted his information yesterday, he'd been scheduled last.
Chapter 6: Subtle-Level Body Technique, Leaving Everyone Stunned
"Hm? You're Jiang Li, the one who got his trainee ID for the first time yesterday?"
Wu Tong glanced at Jiang Li's basic information and looked surprised. "You're not from a prominent family? You trained on your own before this?"
Jiang Li nodded. "Yes, Chief Instructor!"
"Jiang Li, show them everything you've got. Open their eyes! Haha!"
Jiang Nian was in excellent spirits. Not counting Lu Fei, at least two of the nine people he'd brought to the test were sure to become martial artists!
"Okay!"
Jiang Li nodded, then walked over to the Punch Force Testing Machine and took a deep breath. He stirred the flow of blood through his body, his blood surging hot!
Use my hand as a sword, balance yin and yang, and break through the surface with a single point!
In the next moment, powerful force gathered in his palm.
Jiang Li drew back his right arm like a bow, then slammed his fist forward. With a bang, it struck the target.
The punch looked ordinary enough, but Jiang Li was a high-level martial artist. His strength far exceeded the limits of a low-level Punch Force Testing Machine.
"Boom!"
A sound like a grenade exploding rang out.
The Punch Force Testing Machine was blasted away by the tremendous force and smashed into the opposite wall, breaking into pieces.
The whole hall shook, and the wall began to crumble...
The scene was a complete mess.
Th-this...
Wu Tong was stunned on the spot!
A deathly silence fell over the entire guild hall!
"Holy crap, that strength... He's a human beast!"
Tong Guan's jaw dropped, but he didn't even notice. He spoke with a trembling voice.
Everyone had seen powerful fighters battle before, but most of those fights had been online. For many of them, this was the first time they'd witnessed something like this right in front of them.
Just then,
the screen beeped twice, then displayed "9,999 KG." That was the Punch Force Testing Machine's maximum reading, not Jiang Li's limit!
"At least Warrior Level!"
"Kid, that was awesome! You took out the Punch Force Testing Machine with one punch!"
"Brother Jiang Nian, you'll have to pay for that."
"A Warrior Level martial artist at twenty—what a genius! How long has it been since Jiangnan District produced a monster like this?"
"He may have used a special force-generating technique, but that's still incredible!"
Quite a few of the martial artists present were Warrior Level. They could tell at a glance that Jiang Li's punch was extraordinary, and they all looked his way.
"Haha, I'll pay, I'll pay!"
Jiang Nian was overjoyed. Laughing heartily, he said, "You little rascal, were you hiding your strength when you got your trainee ID?"
"Not bad, young man!"
Chief Instructor Wu Tong glanced at the shattered testing machine and stroked his chin. "It's good to know how to hold back, but strength alone doesn't make you Warrior Level. Your speed and neural response have to meet the standard, too."
"Next, we'll test your speed."
As he spoke, Jiang Li had already reached the speed-testing area.
"Whoosh!"
Before you continue
