History
Yang Hui takes an interest in Jiang Li after receiving reports of his performance. Acting as a special envoy, he questions Wu Tong about Jiang Li, then travels to assess him in person. He explains the Elite Training Camp's admissions process and offers Jiang Li a B-Level Trial opportunity. Jiang Li's punch-force demonstration exceeds his expectations; Yang Hui apologizes for underestimating him and signs a Special Training Contract with him 22 32 33.
At the Elite Training Camp, Yang Hui arranges Jiang Li's admission, introduces him to the Jiangnan Pavilion residents, and guides him through the Trial Tower's virtual assessment. His own recorded Trial Tower level is 3.2 58 59. He later handles the sale of Jiang Li's surplus weapons and equipment, including a batch of ninety-nine SS-Level Blood Shadow War Swords 70 104 108.
After Jiang Li becomes an inspector, Yang Hui continues to assist him. He transfers Jiang Li's funds without deducting a handling fee, and the two settle on the more familiar address “Old Yang” 124. Yang Hui later leaves Blue Star with Jiang Li for Chaos City, where he is still respectfully addressed as “Teacher” by Luo Feng 327 373.
Personality
Yang Hui is demanding when evaluating martial artists, but revises his judgment when Jiang Li proves himself. Although he doubts Jiang Li's extraordinary combat-power figure, he hopes it is genuine because of what such talent could mean for humanity 32 33 62. He takes his instructor duties seriously and initially refuses what he believes is an excessive fee for selling Jiang Li's equipment 58 70.
