Background & History

The Xia Family is a long-established Martial Dao power built from several Xia-surnamed martial lineages that united centuries earlier for mutual protection and greater access to external opportunities. The lineage holding the family-head position became the Main House, while six other lineages became the Branch House. 262

Its ancestral teachings emphasize incorporating Martial Dao into ordinary life: family members are expected to cultivate, temper themselves, and improve continuously. Members without ambition may live on a monthly allowance, but those seeking further resources are expected to meet the family’s requirements and contribute in return. 262 67

The family’s modern internal balance was disrupted after Xia Zhao’s great-grandfather was injured on an outside mission.
