Background

Snow Fairy is a princess of Tianyang Kingdom whose mother was a mortal. Her low maternal status left her unfavored by her father, and she lives in a remote, deliberately plain palace despite her royal birth. Her principal family support came from her aunt, the Fengyang Eldest Princess, and her second elder brother. She is nevertheless known as Tianyang Kingdom’s foremost beauty and conceals her appearance with illusion techniques when necessary. 807 809

As a royal child, Snow Fairy underwent Tianyang Kingdom’s harsh cultivation regime from a young age: after reaching the Body Tempering Middle Stage, imperial descendants had to join demon-slaying operations every three years. The emperor betrothed her to Vice Minister Wan Shutong in order to secure the prime minister’s support.
