Prelude to the Silver Wedding

Weeks ago, the people living in this beautiful tower had begun preparing for today's wedding. Maids went to the simply erected "Summer Market" to purchase silk and flowers, adorning the girls about to enter into marriage.

The bride's mother, Lady Jannie Rowan, had specially come from Horn Hill to help her daughter tend to the guests. As for Lady Lyra Celtigar, over the past few months she had successfully found her way into Valar's heart. Well, she had not actually done much—only fulfilled a wife's duties, caring for her husband's daily needs and assisting Diana Tully with her affairs. Diana had also discovered Lyra's strengths: she was a girl highly skilled with accounts, and, cherished by her elder brother, she was innocent and unworldly. In the young girl's eyes, everything was so beautiful.

"Sister, try this one." Wearing a fitted silver-white gown, Lyra held up a white shawl adorned with amethysts and rubies against Diana. Two silver-haired maids were applying Diana's makeup.

"Lyra, go have your makeup done as well." Diana held the shawl against herself and nodded in satisfaction. "We cannot keep burdening Mother and the princesses. Once we're ready, we must take up our responsibilities too."

"Mm." Lyra swiftly sat before another mirror, and two more silver-haired maids immediately stepped forward to give the young girl Valyrian-style makeup.

The entire room was bustling, without the slightest space for anyone else to interfere. Even Lady Jannie, who had wanted to come in and see her daughter, abandoned the thought upon seeing the scene inside. Instead, she continued entertaining the guests.

Aside from Dorne, knights, warriors, and nobles from every corner of the realm had gathered here. Some had pitched tents in the outskirts, while others stayed in the newly completed inns at Summerhall.
