What Hisoka pursued—
was a certain kind of freedom.
It was not quite doing whatever he pleased, only being true to his own desires.
When asked why he enjoyed fighting, Hisoka's first reaction was not to consider how he should answer Moyu.
Rather, he found it strange that Moyu had suddenly asked such a question.
In Hisoka's eyes, Moyu...
was special.
Special enough that Hisoka did not mind spending countless amounts of time and effort to "pursue" him.
This was neither cultivating an apple nor tending an apple tree...
He simply believed Moyu's existence was worth doing so.
But throughout this "pursuit," Hisoka realized that Moyu was different from him.

That question piqued Hisoka's interest somewhat, prompting him to seriously consider how he should answer Moyu.
Come to think of it...
This was the first time he had actively given his own motives any deep thought.
And all of this was a change Moyu had brought about.
What mattered was not why he fought, but who he could fight.
Of all the people he had encountered so far, only Moyu...
could fascinate him, excite him, delight him, drive him mad...
As Hisoka pondered, the corners of his mouth kept curling upward, and even his upper eyelids could barely contain the delight dancing in his eyes.
Seeing Hisoka fall silent for a moment, with signs that he might even start acting perverted, Moyu shook his head
