The Testing Gate consisted of seven doors.
The smallest door weighed two tons on each side.
With each additional door, the weight doubled.
In other words—
The seven doors of the Testing Gate weighed a total of 256 tons.
But that was not the important part.
The Testing Gate had an interconnected mechanism. Once the first door was pushed open, it would trigger the second door to open as well.
If one had enough strength, they could push open the first door and open all the remaining doors at the same time.
The reason the Testing Gate gave people the first impression of being a showpiece was simply because it was too large.
Given the span of an ordinary human's outstretched arms, how could anyone possibly reach across the width of both doors, much less push them open directly?
The old gatekeeper was named Zebro. He had guarded this gate for twenty years, and even now, he could only open the second door when exerting every ounce of his strength.
Over those twenty years, he had seen quite a few Hunters capable of pushing open the gate, but the most anyone had managed was the third door, weighing sixteen tons.
As far as he knew, there were only a handful of people in the world who could open the seventh door.
But—
The utterly unremarkable young tourist he had seen today had sent the smallest, four-ton stone door flying without even moving his palm.
"It's Nen..."
"But how is that possible?!"
Zebro stared blankly at the young man standing before the Testing Gate. At some point, his balding head had become covered in sweat.
The Testing Gate had an interconnected mechanism, so in theory, the smallest stone door at the very bottom could withstand enough force to push 256 tons.
