"It's open! It's open!"
Thanks to Ainz's efforts, Lamas's camp had gathered enough flesh-and-blood energy to open the Gate of Death.
With the last batch of sacrifices in place, the blood-red spatial membrane inside the Bone Gate was torn apart, and the portal opened.
"What a sweet, fragrant aura. This is the true holy land of Necromancers!"
Lamas charged through the Gate of Death and breathed deeply of the air in the Necrotic Realm.
Ainz followed him into the Necrotic Realm. The "sweet, fragrant aura" Lamas spoke of was actually a dense deathly aura.
In an environment like this, living creatures would naturally turn into undead if they stayed for too long.
Looking at the intoxicated expressions of Lamas and the other Necromancers, Medivh understood why Necromancers met such unhappy ends. They were eroded by the deathly aura without realizing it, and would ultimately embrace death, becoming mad Liches who spread it.
"Hahaha! There are as many servants here as anyone could want!"
Lamas and the other Necromancers laughed wildly as they used spells to bind the various undead wandering across the Rotten Soil.
Ghostly undead, almost never seen in the outside world, were everywhere here.
"Ainz, can it be that you don't know how to use binding spells? I can teach you!"
Lamas said mockingly.
After entering the Necrotic Realm, Lamas was full of confidence. His attitude toward Ainz had clearly changed, and he started treating him like a subordinate.
They were both Third-Rank Necromancers, but Lamas had an endless supply of undead servants, while Ainz only knew how to make Bone Golems. Ainz ought to submit to him.
He had been unhappy with Ainz's attitude before, but had put up with it for the time being. Now he didn't have to hold back anymore.
"I'm just so happy.
