Neeko the Green Dragon roared in defiance, trying to break free of the Dragon-Taming Chain wrapped around her.
The Origin Bone Artifact had been specifically developed for taming dragons. It wasn't something she could easily break free from. The tighter Neeko struggled, the more the Dragon-Taming Chain constricted. Riding on her back, the Bone Golem used the chain as reins and forced her down to the ground.
This was a friendly sparring match. Medivh didn't beat Neeko bloody in front of all the Green Dragons.
The Bone Golem pinned her head down with four hands and controlled the Dragon-Taming Chain with the other four, holding Neeko firmly to the ground and wearing down her strength.
Neeko dug helplessly at the dirt, unable to shake off the Bone Golem holding her down.
As she struggled, her strength steadily dwindled. At last, she gave up and lay sprawled on the ground, conceding in humiliation.
"What a strong human!"
Medivh had defeated Neeko, a Green Dragon of the same rank, using nothing but his strength and no spells. The other Green Dragons were impressed.
Dragons' pride came from their strength. They respected anyone who could subdue them barehanded at the same rank.
"Haha, actually, I'm a Dragon too!"
Medivh laughed. Scales grew across his skin, his eyes turned golden and slit-pupiled, and he transformed into a powerful adult Lava Dragon.
He knew how to handle the situation, and gave both Neeko and the Green Dragon Clan a way to save face after their defeat.
If a human had subdued her barehanded, Neeko would never have been able to hold her head high among her clan again. The Green Dragon Clan would have been disgraced as well.
