Background / History

Chen Xian transmigrated into the world sixty years before the beginning of the story. Having lived as an ordinary old man without major illness or calamity, he refused to accept a peaceful mortal death when he still had a system capable of copying and refining traits. 1

His chance at cultivation began when he copied and refined an Innate Sword Bone into the Mystic Jade Sword Bone. The resulting Sword Qi let him survive Shangguan Hongyue's attack and kill a Six-Winged White Tiger, while also giving him a Dao Disciple cultivation base. 3 5

After returning with Shangguan Hongyue and the wounded Lin Xiaoyan, Chen exploited the sect's mistaken belief that he was a surviving senior from the old Sword Gate era. The existence of a real sword-bone disciple surnamed Chen from the destroyed Sword Suppression Peak lineage made the identity convincing. 9 12

Initially treated as an aged uncle-master with nearly exhausted cultivation, Chen began rebuilding himself through lectures, missions, pill refinement, and relentless practice. His need for resources led him to make candied hawthorns, undertake alchemy commissions, and refine pills for the sect's war effort. 14 16 47 53

Chen investigated the Qian Family's connection to the Blood Demon Sect, using their offer of longevity and assistance as bait to expose their collaboration. This ultimately brought him into conflict with Xue Yan, the Blood Demon Sect's Holy Maiden. 27 59 75 77

Following Gu Tie's victory in the Grand Competition, Sword Suppression Peak was officially reopened and Chen was appointed its Peak Master. His secret cultivation and Supreme Void Sword Body were soon revealed after his battle with Xue Yan. 74 78 80
