Background / History

Shangguan Hongyue came from a mortal family and entered the Xuanyun Sword Sect through its Seeking the Dao road. At eleven, she traveled the road toward the sect for two years and twenty thousand li; Sect Master Lei Qingyang personally received her and accepted her as a disciple after recognizing her perseverance. 9

She became an Inner Sect disciple after reaching the Sword Master realm. Her cultivation was founded on an Innate Sword Bone, though she initially considered herself less gifted than Heavy Sword Peak’s Lin Xiaoyan. 5 8 11

While hunting a Six-Winged White Tiger near Chang-le Village, she met Chen Xian and mistook him for a retired senior of the sect’s earlier Sword Sect era. She respectfully guided him back to the sect, continuing to rely on his apparent seniority during the Blood Demon Sect crisis. 3 4 7 10
