The acknowledgment was complete. The Universe Rank Qila and the twenty Star Rank Di Si all knelt, addressing him as master.
Li Dui told them to rise, then said to the green-eyed man, "You go attend to your work first. I'll borrow your place to rest a while."
The green-eyed man agreed readily, saying Li Dui could rest as long as he liked and to call on him for anything. Then he withdrew with the other staff.
Li Dui looked at the Universe Rank Qila. "What's your name?"
"Master, this one is called Laheboqiborenmogangwu," the Universe Rank Qila replied, head bowed.
"Uh... I'll just call you Qila. Are you a native or a cosmic human?" Li Dui asked again.
"Yes. This one is a cosmic human," Qila answered woodenly.
"Cosmic human, good. Help me get some things done. In twenty thousand years, I'll return your freedom." Li Dui's tone was casual.
A brilliant light flashed in Qila's eyes. She knelt on one knee and asked, "May this one ask what tasks the master wishes done?"
"Just some simple things. Working by my side isn't complicated. I have only one requirement: keep your mouth shut. If anyone leaks information about me outside, then~ that person won't need to keep living." As he spoke, his gaze swept over the twenty-one slaves.
The twenty female Star Rank Nine heard this and knelt in unison. Some said they understood, some said they remembered. All were somewhat trembling.
Yes, Li Dui had chosen twenty female Star Rank Nine. Perhaps it was because he'd lived decades in Xin'an Residence in Tulan City of Xueluo World, with only maids attending him and no men—he'd gotten used to it.
"Get up, no need to kneel at every turn. Just don't go blabbing outside."
With that, he tossed a space ring to Qila. "Deposit the Universe Crystals inside into your bank account. If you don't have an account with Galaxy Bank or First Bank, open one. Then buy a C9 Rank alloy spaceship. Something on the faster side. Come back here when it's done."
Qila inspected the ring. It was over two hundred meters in length and width, easily enough to hold a spaceship. The ring was empty except for tens of thousands of cubic meters of Universe Crystals placed in the center.
Qila was astonished. A C9 alloy spaceship cost around ten million Kehe Coins, roughly three thousand Universe Coins. This new master had entrusted her with so much money. With it, she could buy two more slaves like herself and still have plenty left over.
"It seems his promise to free me in twenty thousand years might not be a lie," Qila thought as she left the secret chamber.
Li Dui closed his eyes and said nothing. Through his triple-gene avatar, he logged into the Virtual Universe.
The Secret Technique of Puppet Body of Self truly fell short compared to a real Clone Secret Technique in this regard. A clone had an independent soul and consciousness, acting on its own without burden.
Li Dui's avatar required him to divert his consciousness to control every action.
"Xiao Le, search for soul control secret techniques."
A full page of results popped up.
Li Dui flipped the page, then flipped again. He saw a familiar name: Ten Thousand Hearts Soul Control Secret Technique. Exchange price: 1.5 million points, with a 30% discount in the God Origin Secret Realm.
Li Dui entered a restriction in the search box: within 30,000 points.
A technique like Ten Thousand Hearts Soul Control was certainly good. But he couldn't afford it. And he didn't need it.
He just needed any random technique for temporary use. At most, it would be for controlling some Universe Rank or Domain Lord Rank types, to better manage his hidden situation. Nothing too high-end was required.
After some comparison, Li Dui settled on a technique called Soul-Eroding Sound. It cost 27,000 points. This technique could not only control the souls of opponents with low resistance but also served as a decent soul attack method.
He clicked to exchange. Transaction successful.
The screen displayed:
Deducted 18,900 points. Remaining: 188,628 points.
Please wait. The technique will be delivered shortly.
Li Dui couldn't be bothered to complain. He didn't know what the Virtual Universe was thinking. A technique like this—why insist on having it delivered? Couldn't they just flash a visual effect and have it appear on the table?
After a moment, the administrator sent a call saying the technique had arrived.
Li Dui went out and brought back the silver briefcase containing the technique.
All soul techniques shared one common trait: the stronger the soul, the easier they were to learn.
Li Dui now had a hundredfold gene, so his soul was naturally powerful. His weakness was his low realm—merely a Universe Rank. Learning a technique created and used by at least Immortals would still take some time.
Qila returned after finishing her tasks, and Li Dui left Ousai Planet with his twenty-one slaves, setting off in the C9 spaceship toward the direction he'd specified.
The black-armored Li Dui sat cross-legged in the master cabin, seemingly in cultivation. In reality, Li Dui's true body was inside the space ring, busily occupied.
Comprehending laws and learning Soul-Eroding Sound could be done simultaneously, with both sides connected through "Ring" making rapid progress. But if he did that, the two avatars traveling through the clouds of Xueluo World would receive too little consciousness, slowing their movement considerably.
Thus, Li Dui had to lower the priority of law comprehension for now and focus on mastering Soul-Eroding Sound first.
When the two twentyfold-gene avatars in Xueluo World found their targets and prepared for battle, Li Dui would set everything else aside and concentrate on fighting, to avoid any accidents.
Slowly, time passed.
Three years later, in the master cabin of the C9 spaceship.
A woman with delicate features and a well-proportioned figure looked at Li Dui with gentle, obedient eyes.
"Get up, Du Ya. From now on, you'll handle matters outside," Li Dui said.
Du Ya was his first soul slave. Half a year ago, he'd finally mastered Soul-Eroding Sound. Li Dui had then ordered the ship to the nearest large commercial planet along the route. After waiting several months there, he'd bought Du Ya, a Universe Rank Six warrior.
A soul slave by his side was naturally far more trustworthy than a chip-controlled one. A Universe Rank Six was also sufficient in status to handle ordinary affairs.
The C9 spaceship traveled at about twice the speed of light. After two and a half years of continuous flight, Li Dui had already left the Primordial Secret Realm by over 50 million light-years, exiting the bounds of the Kehe Universe Kingdom.
Li Dui had set his course toward the Battle Axe Secret Realm. He planned to go to a place about two universe kingdoms away from it, find a low-level universe kingdom, and buy an inconspicuous planet to stay on.
He would hide and cultivate in seclusion, not showing himself. External matters would be left to Du Ya and the others. This way, safety should be quite high.
In a low-level cosmic nation, the strongest would at most be a World Lord. Given Li Dui's current combat power, and with two avatars that could fight to the death, just how unlucky would he have to be to die in such a small place?
Unless it was an assassination by an alien race. The three peak races bordering the human race—the Zerg, the Demon Race, and the Machine Race—would be more than willing to pay a considerable price to eliminate a human genius.
Given the talent and strength Li Dui had displayed, if his whereabouts were discovered by them, it was entirely possible they would send an Immortal-level assassin.
Li Dui remembered that before Luo Feng was accepted as a disciple by the Chaos City Lord, he had already encountered an assassination attempt by an Immortal God. His current performance surpassed that of Luo Feng at the same stage. He was surely being watched by the alien races as well.
But what they were watching was definitely the Li Dui in the Xueluo World. No one would ever imagine that Li Dui's true vital point—his original body—was actually hidden inside such an unremarkable spaceship.
