Chapters 51–75 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 51Arriving in Qimen City

Lin Chenxing arrived at Qimen City, criticized its reliance on protecting civilians instead of preparing them to survive, and set a month-long schedule for the evacuation to Xingyan Base. On the ninth day, a Beast Tide attacked, accompanied by two of the three Lord-level Monsters known to be nearby.

  • During five days of travel, Lin Chenxing improved his force application technique and adapted it for use with a spear.
  • Lin Chenxing entered Qimen City and met Mayor Ji Yunxiang and the settlement's administrators.
  • Lin Chenxing told Ji Yunxiang that Qimen City's focus on protecting civilians had left them unprepared and that the settlement could not survive the nearby Lord Monsters without evacuating or outside help.
  • Lin Chenxing ordered the residents to increase their training and set the evacuation for a month later, allowing a week for the journey to Xingyan Base.
  • On the ninth day after Lin Chenxing's arrival, a Beast Tide attacked Qimen City with two Lord-level Monsters.

Ch. 52The Mountain-Bearing Turtle and the Single-Horned Lizard Dragon

Qimen City faced a two-sided attack from the Lord-level Mountain-Bearing Turtle and Single-Horned Lizard Dragon, and Lin Chenxing fought the dragon while the defenders tried to stop the turtle. The battle remained unresolved as Peng Tianwen pierced a small hole through the turtle’s shell and Lin Chenxing waited out the wounded dragon’s frenzy.

  • Mayor Ji Yunxiang ordered a Level One Response after the Mountain-Bearing Turtle and Single-Horned Lizard Dragon appeared at Qimen City’s northern and western walls.
  • Lin Chenxing agreed to target the Single-Horned Lizard Dragon and charged at it with his spear, evading its horn and tail attacks.
  • Lin Chenxing wounded the dragon’s tail and tongue with his spear and bamboo leaves, then struck its forehead with a powerful thrust that shattered its scales but failed to pierce its skull.
  • The wounded Single-Horned Lizard Dragon went berserk, while the Mountain-Bearing Turtle changed course toward it and the defenders tried to hold the turtle back.
  • Peng Tianwen used all twelve bamboo leaves to focus his attacks on one spot and finally punched a small hole through the Mountain-Bearing Turtle’s shell.

Ch. 53The Death of the Mountain-Bearing Turtle

Lin Chenxing and Peng Tianwen killed the Mountain-Bearing Turtle after it blocked Qimen City’s evacuation convoy, and the convoy stopped to salvage its valuable shell. As the humans celebrated, a distant tiger’s howl drew answering calls from monsters.

  • The Mountain-Bearing Turtle sealed Peng Tianwen’s earlier wound, then left Qimen City with the Beast Tide, and the city celebrated its comparatively light losses.
  • Nearly half a month later, Qimen City’s convoy set out, and Peng Tianwen told Lin Chenxing that he had broken through and was close to becoming an Advanced Battle General.
  • Three Lord-level Monsters ambushed the convoy route, with the Mountain-Bearing Turtle blocking the front while the Single-Horned Lizard Dragon and Golden-Winged Tiger hid on its back.
  • Peng Tianwen reopened the turtle’s damaged shell with bamboo leaves, and Lin Chenxing drove his spear into the crater before Peng Tianwen’s drill of leaves shredded the turtle’s organs and killed it.
  • The Golden-Winged Tiger flew away and the Single-Horned Lizard Dragon fled as the convoy salvaged the turtle’s shell, but a tiger’s howl was answered by monsters in the distance.

Ch. 54Fire-Scaled Three-Halberd Pig

Lin Chenxing and the convoy faced three Lord-level Monsters and their surrounding forces as they tried to break through the encirclement. Lin Chenxing fought the Fire-Scaled Three-Halberd Pig while Peng Tianwen and He Qishun battled the Golden-Winged Tiger and Single-Horned Lizard Dragon.

  • The Fire-Scaled Three-Halberd Pig emerged from the woods, and Lin Chenxing ordered the convoy to break through while assigning Peng Tianwen and He Qishun to the other Lord-level Monsters.
  • The Fire-Scaled Three-Halberd Pig charged before Lin Chenxing could gather more strength, and their clash showed that it was stronger in a direct contest.
  • Lin Chenxing used his speed to strike the pig's vulnerable rear, then wounded its belly and nostril when its defenses blocked his attacks.
  • He Qishun and several Advanced Battle Generals fought the injured Single-Horned Lizard Dragon while Peng Tianwen kept the Golden-Winged Tiger from attacking the ground forces.
  • Peng Tianwen's twelve Bamboo Leaf struck the Golden-Winged Tiger head-on and brought it crashing down, and he sent the scattered blades toward it as it struggled to stand.

Ch. 55A Sudden Insight

Peng Tianwen led the battered convoy through the monsters while He Qishun found a breakthrough in battle and killed the Single-Horned Lizard Dragon. As He Qishun called for retreat, Lin Chenxing injured the Fire-Scaled Three-Halberd Pig by driving sixteen Bamboo Leaves into its eye.

  • Peng Tianwen used half the Bamboo Leaf to clear a path as the convoy lost over four hundred vehicles and more than ten thousand people.
  • He Qishun and his group struggled to escape the Single-Horned Lizard Dragon, and He Qishun reconsidered his priorities as he faced death.
  • He Qishun developed a faster sword strike, severed the monster’s tail, and chopped the Single-Horned Lizard Dragon into pieces.
  • He Qishun told Lin Chenxing to retreat, then Lin Chenxing launched sixteen Bamboo Leaves into the Fire-Scaled Three-Halberd Pig’s eye.

Ch. 56The Secret Manual Takes Shape

After returning to the convoy, Lin Chenxing helped drive off the pursuing monsters while Peng Tianwen collapsed from exhaustion. He Qishun created the Heart Moon Blade and Moon Force, and Lin Chenxing used their principles to develop a force-stacking technique of his own, reaching nine segments before hitting his limit.

  • Lin Chenxing returned to the convoy, caught the exhausted Peng Tianwen, and carried him to a cot to rest.
  • Lin Chenxing joined the fight against the pursuing monsters, and the group gradually stopped or killed them as dawn broke.
  • He Qishun devised the Heart Moon Blade combat method and Moon Force technique, whose power rose and fell through eight stages.
  • He Qishun gave Lin Chenxing his draft, and Lin Chenxing used its principles to advance the manual he had been creating.
  • Lin Chenxing tested his force-stacking technique with He Qishun and reached nine segments, with a maximum force of 6.8 times normal.

Ch. 57Utterly Wicked

Lin Chenxing scouted the Black and White Clown’s stronghold and led a surprise attack after learning its main force was away. The survivors revealed that the organization was moving to attack Xingyan Group’s base.

  • Lin Chenxing entered the town alone and found boards listing the organization’s members, ranks, and victims, revealing its strength and crimes.
  • Lin Chenxing heard townspeople discuss Ke Qian’s rise in the rankings and the organization’s plans to take over settlements.
  • Lin Chenxing returned to his group and planned a gradual assault, with his forces silently eliminating patrols around the town.
  • Lin Chenxing, He Qishun, and Peng Tianwen led the attack on the inner patrols and wiped out the Black and White Clown’s remaining forces in town.
  • The survivors told Lin Chenxing that the organization’s main force had left to attack Xingyan Group’s base.

Ch. 58The Leader Appears

  • Lin Chenxing killed the Three-Tailed Fox with his Nine-Tribulation Spear, and He Qishun also defeated his opponents.

Ch. 60The End

Lin Chenxing cornered the Black and White Clown leader, who revealed the cruelty and rejection that had shaped his life and explained how he gained the power to control monsters and people. After the leader asked to die, Lin Chenxing killed him, ending the Black and White Clown.

  • Lin Chenxing caught up with the retreating leader while his forces and more than fifty Advanced Battle Generals surrounded them.
  • The leader gave up escaping and recounted the cruelty he had suffered, his family's mistreatment, and how he discovered his powers when monsters appeared.
  • He Qishun and Gao Zheng arrived and listened while Lin Chenxing defeated the Black and White Clown members surrounding him.
  • The leader admitted that he had waited among monsters and believed he had finally found what he should do, but pleaded with Lin Chenxing to kill him.
  • Lin Chenxing sent a Bamboo Leaf into the leader's head, and the Black and White Clown came to an end.

Ch. 61Blood Demon Sky Wolf

After Xingyan Base became Xingyan County, Lin Chenxing and the others learned that the Blood Demon Wolf had survived a nuclear blast, mutated into the Blood Demon Sky Wolf, and killed hundreds of thousands more people. Thunder God confronted the flying monster and severed one of its legs, but it escaped at tremendous speed.

  • The Black and White Clown’s people were brought to Xingyan Base, where officials isolated and re-educated them to break their devotion to the group’s leader.
  • Xingyan Base became Xingyan County, established new governing bodies, and counted more than 153,000 residents, including four War Gods and thousands of Battle Generals.
  • After hearing Lin Chenxing and He Qishun discuss their manuals, Gao Zheng and many Advanced Battle Generals began refining their own techniques.
  • A blood-marked wolf led a powerful Beast Tide against a southeastern settlement, and its defenders requested a nuclear bomb after evacuating the civilians.
  • The bomb wiped out nearly everything in its blast zone, but the Blood Demon Wolf survived underground, mutated, and later grew wings, becoming the Blood Demon Sky Wolf.
  • The Blood Demon Sky Wolf slaughtered another city, and Thunder God fought it in the sky, severed one of its legs, and watched it flee at extraordinary speed.

Ch. 62War God Gathering

Ch. 63Kyoto Base City

Jia Yi announced plans for Kyoto Base City and nine Satellite Cities, requiring settlements to relocate within four years. Lin Chenxing refused to move Xingyan County for now and offered it as a refuge to other settlements, while the chapter ended with Shang Minghua asking to relocate Tangkan Settlement to Xingyan.

  • Jia Yi explained that settlements under Kyoto Base City’s jurisdiction had to move into the Base City or one of nine Satellite Cities within four years.
  • Lin Chenxing and Gao Zheng judged the long, dangerous relocation route too risky for Xingyan County’s 150,000 residents.
  • Lin Chenxing told Jia Yi that Xingyan would stay put for now and asked that its relocation be postponed until other settlements had moved and help was available.
  • Jia Yi accepted Xingyan’s decision, offered support, and warned that other settlements would not receive the same option; Lin Chenxing invited them to Xingyan while warning of powerful monsters in the Taihang Mountains.
  • Nine of the twelve remaining medium-sized settlements chose Satellite Cities, while two planned to merge.
  • Shang Minghua asked Lin Chenxing whether Tangkan Settlement could receive Xingyan’s support and relocate there.

Ch. 64Monster Tide Levels

Lin Chenxing and Gao Zheng agreed to Shang Minghua’s settlement joining Xingyan and committed to the Military’s monster-clearing plan. Jia Yi then explained the Military’s monster tide classifications, including the Disaster Level category.

  • Lin Chenxing told Shang Minghua that Xingyan needed nearly two years to prepare housing for his 310,000 people, and Shang offered materials and workers to help build a city for over a million.
  • Jia Yi presented the Decapitation and Safe Zone Plan, which called for War Gods to eliminate Lord-level Monsters and the Military to guard safe zones.
  • After the meeting, Lin Chenxing said he would join the clearing operation, and Shang Minghua agreed to go with him and Gao Zheng.

Ch. 65Support and Speculation

Lin Chenxing accepted Jia Yi’s support for establishing a Satellite City and, with Gao Zheng, investigated the possible origins and destination of a looming Beast Tide. The next day, they joined Shang Minghua to clear monsters from their assigned site, where a dangerous Advanced Lord called the Green-Feathered Ghost Duck awaited.

  • Jia Yi offered Lin Chenxing support to establish a Satellite City, and Lin Chenxing accepted the terms.
  • After returning to their lodgings, Lin Chenxing and Gao Zheng questioned how a Beast Tide could form near two settlements whose surroundings had been cleared of powerful monsters.
  • Lin Chenxing and Gao Zheng concluded that escaped Lord Monsters might have gathered near the remaining settlements, though they had no proof.
  • The next day, Lin Chenxing and Gao Zheng met Shang Minghua and traveled to their assigned Satellite City site to hunt Advanced Beast Generals and stronger monsters.
  • Lin Chenxing and the others found that their site had one Advanced Lord, the Green-Feathered Ghost Duck, whose blade-like wings and piercing cries made it dangerous.

Ch. 66Three Years

Xingyan Base expanded into a Base City while humanity developed stronger weapons, spacecraft, and new superhuman fighters. • Lin Chenxing wandered around Yunhe Valley while settlement Martial Artists followed him, and the Alliance delegation arrived several hours later.
  • Xi Qing and Fang Hexian tearfully reunited, then talked about Xi Qing’s years apart and her life as a War God.
  • Fang Hexian asked Xiao Mo about Lin Chenxing, and Xiao Mo said he and Xi Qing would make a good match before Xi Qing interrupted her.

Ch. 69The Ruins

Lin Chenxing joined the Alliance meeting while distracted by thoughts of his family, then followed Zhang Yu to investigate a ruin guarded by powerful monkeys. After seeing how much the troop had strengthened, Lin Chenxing returned to Yunhe Valley and planned to bring reinforcements from Xingyan to claim the ruin and its fruit wine.

  • Lin Chenxing struggled with homesickness and his responsibility to protect Xingyan, and his oppressive aura pushed the Alliance leaders toward Xingyan's demands during their meeting.
  • Zhang Yu told Lin Chenxing about a ruin in the Taihang Mountains, where monkeys gathered around a sealed green metal door, a flowing-water statue, and a vat of fruit.
  • Lin Chenxing learned that a flame-furred ape and a White-Haired One-Horned Monkey leader guarded the ruin, then recognized the flame-furred ape as the Wine Fire Monkey Ma Tianxing had encountered.
  • Lin Chenxing and Zhang Yu observed that Wine Fire Monkey had reached Advanced Lord level and the monkey troop had grown stronger, so Lin Chenxing led Zhang Yu away.

  • Lin Chenxing sealed the outlet in the statue’s hand, stopping the water, and the five prepared to open the ruins’ entrance.

Ch. 71Harvest

Lin Chenxing and the others uncovered a Heluo escape pod in the ruin and recovered its damaged data, a statue, and a jar of wine. Researchers at Xingyan Base decoded information about Heluo civilization, cultivation, resources, and advanced technology, leaving them with knowledge that could guide future research.

  • Lin Chenxing broke through a hidden wall and found a spherical aircraft containing a skeleton and disabled support robots.
  • Peng Tianwen carried the aircraft back to Yunhe Valley while Gao Zheng and Lin Chenxing transported the statue and wine jar.
  • After the Alliance and Xingyan merger was finalized, Lin Chenxing escorted the recovered items to Xingyan Base for study.

  • Lin Chenxing recognized that he had awakened a Wood-element ability focused on promoting growth, then tore down his tree-grown door and went outside.
  • Lin Chenxing rose nearly a hundred meters into the air as people throughout the base watched in astonishment.

Ch. 73Homecoming

After reaching the Planetary Level, Lin Chenxing strengthened the Bamboo Forest to defend his base and traveled to Su Province to check on his family’s villa. He rescued a Martial Artist team from a rat swarm at the villa and revealed that he owned the house, while leaving his exact strength open to interpretation.
