Rumble, rumble! This fire ox was enormous, and its brute strength was terrifying, though it was not especially fast. Of course, that slowness was relative—slow compared to an ordinary Creation King, but still astonishingly fast for an Ascendant Emperor, constantly closing the gap between them.

Zhou Heng frowned. He had been about to turn back and fight when he suddenly spotted a cave ahead formed from countless sword blades. It was two zhang in diameter—quite spacious for humans, yet absolutely too small for the fire ox behind them.

He immediately veered and charged toward the sword cave.

Fang Yirong and the other two noticed it at the same time. Though they had no idea whether the sword cave could withstand the fire ox's charge, in their desperation, they would clutch even a straw for dear life.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! The four of them dashed into the sword cave almost simultaneously.

Bang!

The fire ox slammed headfirst into it. The impact was immense; its two sharp horns scraped against the swords lining the cave, bursting forth with countless dazzling sparks. Yet its charge was forcibly brought to a halt.

Huff! Huff!

The fire ox gave unwilling, muffled roars outside. The streams of fire blasting from its nostrils could melt even gold and stone, scorching the nearby blades red-hot. The heat spread inward, and the temperature inside the cave soared at once.

Fortunately, Zhou Heng and the others were all Ascendant Emperors. Simply raising Spiritual Power shields was enough to withstand such burning heat.

After ramming about outside for a while, the fire ox finally turned and left. Rumble, rumble—the tremors in the ground gradually faded, and soon absolute silence returned.

Even so, Fang Yirong and the other two still did not dare go out. They feared the fire ox was
