Fang frowned at the three bizarre figures before him, flipped his wrist, and produced a pistol fitted with a silencer, then aimed and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
After all, for him, this place was not one to linger in. Since someone had already tracked him down and launched a pursuit, every extra minute spent here meant an extra minute of danger.
Fang's greatest strengths were still his transformation combat and sorcery, but his marksmanship was at least on par with a trained soldier. So, as he pulled the trigger, the bullet struck one of the enemies square in the chest, knocking him back two steps.
But it was only two steps.
The man who had been shot suddenly erupted, his eyes rolling white, his mouth gaping wide to reveal gleaming teeth, and he lunged forward with both hands outstretched. The stench of saliva spread through the air, and a guttural "hoh hoh hoh" rasped from his throat. The bullet wound in his chest seemed to mean nothing to him at all!
Not only that, but the other two also tore off their hoods and charged, like beasts on the hunt, brimming with a primal and brutal predatory instinct!
"This... heh heh heh, three zombies?" Fang sneered coldly. "How ridiculous. Do they take me for an ordinary man?"
Fang raised his hand and blew the head clean off the zombie charging at the front! The creature immediately staggered like a drunk, crashing sideways into the wall. Though its limbs still flailed wildly, its central nervous system had already lost control.
The next zombie lunged forward, but Fang had already retreated two steps back into the room. The zombie gave chase, but the moment it poked its head in, Fang slammed the door shut!
With a loud bang, the door crushed the zombie's skull, spilling out a sticky black-red fluid that reeked horribly.
This zombie wobbled drunkenly in place, flailing for a few circles, then collapsed to the ground. Its gleaming teeth still gnawed relentlessly at the leg of a coffee table, producing a grating "creak creak" sound that was utterly chilling.
As for the last zombie, Fang simply tossed it out the window for a free fall. Some unlucky car below took the hit, caved in with a massive dent, clearly totaled.
"Child's play." A contemptuous smile curled at the corner of Fang's mouth. He even took a moment to check himself in the mirror, tidy his appearance, and then stepped back out the door.
But as he walked out, he heard the elevator at the end of the hall chime with a soft "ding" and slide open. Fang furrowed his brow and took half a step back. However, a man in a suit stumbled out, his steps unsteady and his face full of panic—clearly an ordinary person.
The man spotted Fang and immediately rushed over as if grasping at a lifeline. But halfway there, his face twisted in pain, and he dropped to his knees. Even then, he refused to give up, stretching his hand desperately toward Fang, mumbling indistinctly:
"Help... save me..."
But at that moment, white smoke began to billow from his body. His clothes caught fire, and the surface of his skin reached an extreme temperature in an instant.
Then his entire body froze. The color and texture of his skin changed rapidly, as if he had turned into a pale gray statue in the blink of an eye.
The surface of the statue had a glossy sheen, like melted wax or plastic, coated in a layer of viscous liquid. The statue itself remained frozen in the pose of reaching out in desperate plea.
Seeing this grotesque statue, Fang's expression shifted. He suddenly sensed a threatening aura rising from within it, and without a second thought, he aimed and fired.
But after three rapid shots, he found that the bullets sank into the statue like mud, making no sound at all! His heart tightened, and he immediately rushed forward, intending to nip the danger in the bud.
Just as he stepped forward, however, he heard a strange "crackle" in the air, like dry bark splitting or glass being crushed underfoot.
Then he saw the statue's back burst open with jets of white vapor, splitting along the spine to reveal a gaping half-meter-long fissure.
It looked eerily similar to the molting of insects like cicadas or dragonflies.
From the gaping wound in the statue's back, a massive thing struggled to break free. Its surface was covered in thick slime and trailing white filaments, a thoroughly disgusting sight.
Fang wanted to advance but could only retreat, covering his nose. The white vapor spewing from the back carried a powerful stench, like rotting, fermented amniotic fluid.
That wasn't all. The white gas lingered in the air, refusing to dissipate. It stung both the nose and eyes, causing a sharp, corrosive irritation.
A few seconds later, with a crisp "splat," liquid splattered everywhere, and a grotesque figure slowly crawled out of the statue. It looked like a flayed, blood-red lizard, moving on all fours, with only its head vaguely resembling a human's.
But its lips had clearly receded, its gums were protruding, and its canine teeth were especially prominent. A bloody gleam shone in its eyes.
What's more, its muscles had swollen grotesquely to the limit, splitting the skin. Combined with its inhuman appearance, it was utterly ferocious and savage!
This was the Ouroboros B Bio-Weapon Specimen!
Fang opened fire on it continuously, but the bullets seemed to have little effect. With few options left, he let out a roar and charged straight at the monster instead.
As he charged, Fang's body swelled wildly—he had activated the Orc Transformation!! The corridor echoed with a unique, terrifying bestial roar!
In just a few seconds, blood splattered like ink across the floor, walls, and ceiling.
In a single exchange, Fang lopped off half the enemy's head! But he quickly noticed that even from the neck stump of the headless specimen, a mass of twisted, mutated blood-vessel tentacles erupted, spraying copious amounts of acid.
Clearly, this monster had no conventional vital points. The head was just bait to lure in its prey!
