Background

Liang Shixian became a class monitor in elementary school. His father taught him that the position was not about being the best student, but about helping classmates in trouble, comforting them when they were sad, protecting them in danger, and making the entire class better 68.

In middle school, he led two classmates against eight students who were extorting protection money from his class. Although his side won, his companions were hospitalized. Realizing that courage alone could not keep others safe, he chose to learn Iron Cloth Shirt so he could protect people without letting them be hurt 68.

During the Martial Exam, he initially struggled to follow Ji Ruo's unconventional survival methods, but came to trust him and trained alongside him. He broke through under pressure when the Hundred-Eyed Demon Crow attacked, using his body to stop lethal feathers from reaching Ji Ruo and Gu Xingzhou; the resulting injuries were healed by a Life-Giving Fruit 67 68.

Appearance

Outside of combat, Liang Shixian is comparatively ordinary in appearance and lacks Ji Ruo's conspicuous white hair, white clothing, and wooden swords 125.

When transformed, he wears Vajra Armor, a heavy golden-red suit accented with silver and black. Its wrist guards resemble Buddhist prayer beads and tightening bands; its shoulders resemble Great Xia beacon towers; and its broad, square back evokes construction machinery 313.

Liang Shixian is conscientious, protective, and strongly identified with his responsibility as class monitor. He instinctively measures his own strength by whether it can keep others safe, from his decision to learn Iron Cloth Shirt as a child to his repeated willingness to shield allies and strangers at personal cost 68 312.

He is diligent rather than jealous. Ji Ruo's rapid progress inspires him to train harder, not resentfully compete, because he believes a class monitor must be strong enough to protect the class 41. He is also practical and capable in group settings, able to recognize when apparently voluntary arrangements would become unfair burdens on others 149.

His sense of duty can become self-destructive. While trying to catch up to Ji Ruo and comprehend a Golden Body artistic conception, he endured damaging foreign intent until his consciousness began to fail 464.

After returning, he attempts to share the Exam's dangers with his classmates, but his overly grim speech initially frightens them instead 92.

First Martial School and Five-Spice Spicy Group

At First Martial School, Liang Shixian chooses to specialize in defense and hard qigong after recognizing that his strength lies in protecting others 125. He later becomes the group's de facto manager, proposing the Class Fund System and Dish Name Honorary Codename System to build member responsibility and belonging 149 150.

Earthmother Continent

While protecting Truth Church captives from a bishop's blood curse, Liang Shixian reaches the peak Qi Pulse Realm and manifests Vajra Armor 312. He continues developing his hard martial arts through combat against the Ox-Horse Demon Dragon and acquires earth-vein enhancements for his armor 328 355.

Battle Against Charles

Liang Shixian awakens Immovable Wisdom King Body to counter Charles' use of earth veins and self-detonates his Star Vortices to extend its protection, allowing Ji Ruo to fight without further collateral harm 372. The final battle is broadcast as Armor Hero, with public faith and support empowering the defenders 378.

Future Cloud City

After traveling twenty years into the future, Liang Shixian reunites with his family and meets Liang Shijing for the first time 386 387. He protects her from the God Worship Sect and confronts the painful possibility that returning to his own time may prevent her birth 397 400.

Martial Dao Tournament

Within the Martial Dao Secret Realm, Liang Shixian's defense remains strong enough to resist higher-realm opponents, but he gains deeper insight into protection through battle and restraint 439. He later develops his guardian artistic conception toward the Golden Body Realm, though his attempt to force progress nearly breaks him 448 464.

Trivia

• A Life-Giving Fruit regrew flesh lost in the Martial Exam and also gave Liang Shixian a second appendix; one appendix was later surgically removed while the newly grown one remained 68 77.
