The Buddha spoke of the six paths: the Celestial Path, the Asura Path, the human path, the beast path, the hungry ghost path, and the hell path.
Of course, in the Buddhist Sect of the Demon Realm, the "human" path was replaced by the "demon" path.
If sentient beings could not attain enlightenment and become Buddhas, they could only cycle endlessly through these six paths, suffering the eight afflictions.
That was merely one school of thought!
Cultivators who reached a certain level all knew that the Source Sea was the final destination of all things in the world, and death the eternal end of living beings.
The so-called six paths and reincarnation, like that Land of Ultimate Bliss, were illusory conceptions bordering on the Divine Path.
Not to mention that the Buddha's six paths included the human path... The Human Race had all been created by the Demon Race. Wasn't the notion of the six paths ordained by heaven utter nonsense?
As the great synthesizer of Buddhist teachings in the Demon Realm, Zen Master Xiong had once been questioned thus by a powerful member of the Demon Race.
Zen Master Xiong's answer was that the six paths—three good and three evil—were all inhabited by mortals. They were distinguished only by the differing realms produced by the fruits of good and evil karma. The six paths themselves were not important. What mattered was reincarnation.
Reincarnation was not entering the Source Sea and then returning, to live the same life anew.
Certainly, the Land of Ultimate Bliss truly existed. Devout believers who did good and observed the precepts throughout their lives could enter it after death and dwell with the Buddha. But such a Divine Path world existed in many faiths; it was nothing remarkable.
Certainly, the Land of Ultimate Bliss did
