His conversation with Dou Zhao was merely a form of "confirmation."
To "confirm" each other's existence, so they would not be confused by the flowing light in this realm of yin and yang. So they would not become dust separated by the two realms.
It came down to only two questions—"Are you still alive?" "Am I still alive?"
It was also a way of "confirming" time.
The realm of yin and yang was not a world that truly existed. It was the gap between Daydreamland and the Sea of Consciousness, a complex region where yin and yang energies mingled. Molded together by [Nameless One]'s great power, it could not be reached by any who did not command the inheritance of yin and yang.
Within this flowing realm of yin and yang, both time and space were muddled. Naturally, there was no time there in the sense it held in The Present World.
