All the affairs of All-Under-Heaven, through all ages, are like clouds and smoke, like dust. Other than the divide between human and dragon, what, in the end, is different about what you and I have done?"
"Was the covenant made for my sake, or drawn along by you?"
"Or rather, was the Covenant of the Haotian Supreme End-Kalpa, which once proclaimed fairness, still nothing more than a sheet of toilet paper, like the old stories of your Human Race—something for you to trample and abuse as you pleased?"
"Though breaking covenants has become routine for the Human Race, this covenant is different, after all."
"Though the Dao Venerable stands high above, do not forget the weight of Transcendence. Without this fairness, its restraints cannot stand."
Dragon Buddha said leisurely, "Look throughout the cosmos—the Transcendents beyond the Human Race in The Present World are all watching!"
Today's contest beyond heaven was, without doubt, a rehearsal concerning "immortality."
The boundaries of Transcendents, the constraints of the Covenant of the Haotian Supreme End-Kalpa—all of it would, in this rehearsal, give those with intent sufficient answers.
"Times shift and ages change; Transcendence stands eternally proven. If one day this covenant no longer suits the times, it will naturally disappear as well."
"But for now... you have made too many moves."
Penglai Dao Lord raised a hand and took down the long scroll of white gold, placing it upon the low table. The two words "Dragon Buddha" gleamed brilliantly upon it. "May a player be unable to sit still?"
