Background / History

Balen is a Dwarf Clan craftsman whose so-called “ancient Secret Realm” is actually his energy-depleted spacecraft. Lin Feng discovers him while investigating the Skyhorn Clan’s invasion of Blue Star; after Lin Feng overwhelms him with ninth-grade psychic power, Balen reveals that the Skyhorn Clan has anchored a spatial passage in the East Sea. 236

He holds a century-long grudge against the Skyhorn Clan. Balen identifies their invading war beasts as expendable cannon fodder and recalls that the clan killed 3,600 Dwarf Clan warriors from the Seventh Interstellar Army. 236 251 He agrees to help Blue Star only after negotiating for access to its Dragon Veins, which can substitute for the energy needed to restart his spacecraft. 236
