Background / History

Marriage Alliance and Demonic Calamity

The Han and Qin Families were once comparably powerful Inner City clans. Before Qin Jiu's birth, Han Zheng and Qin Guihong agreed to a future marriage alliance between their families. After Qin Guihong's death, the Qin Family considered the agreement a potential safeguard against hostile forces seeking its assets and spirit-beast formula 2 5.

When Qin Jiu and Lady Li visited Han Mansion, Wang Yue detected a demonic aura on Han Zheng. Han Zheng revealed that a demon had attacked the Han Family, killing eight of its pillars, including Han Zongyuan, and leaving Han Zheng wounded. Wang Yue confirmed that the victims had been killed by the same demon responsible for Qin Guihong's death 6.

Han Qingyue, Han Zheng's eldest daughter, refused the proposed marriage. She wished to pursue martial arts and enter the Mystic Firmament Sect rather than be used to stabilize the family. Qin Jiu ultimately ended the arrangement, judging the weakened Han Family unable to provide the protection the Qin Family needed 7.

As compensation, the Han Family gave the Qin Family a third-rank spirit beast that was half a step from becoming a Spirit Beast King. Qin Jiu nevertheless proposed that the two families remain allies in Songshan County 7.

Decline During the County Crisis

The Han Family continued to suffer amid Songshan County's demon unrest. Han Zheng assisted in investigating the Zhao Family massacre and distinguished its perpetrator from the demon that had attacked his own family 14.

The Li Family and Chai Gang later planned to eliminate both the Han and Qin Families, with the Chai Gang intending to seize the Han Family's properties and martial arts 30 31. After the destruction of the Li Family and Chai Gang, the Han Family called an alliance meeting with remaining local forces, but the Qin Family declined to attend 33.

Han Zheng was eventually decapitated while accompanying the County Magistrate during an ambush by traitors 36. His death left Han Mansion vulnerable just as unfamiliar Internal Strengthening and Three Refinements martial artists began residing there 36.

Divine Fist Sect Involvement and Destruction

The Divine Fist Sect arrived for Han Zheng's funeral. Ruan Chen offered the Han Family protection and the opportunity to accompany the sect, while pursuing Han Qingyue personally 37 40.

Han Qing, an elder of the family, later withdrew his branch from Han Mansion. The departure left the family with only two Three Refinements martial artists 38. Han Qingyue intended to leave the family's future in the hands of her second uncle, who was close to reaching Internal Strengthening 41.

Han Qingyue became involved in Ruan Chen and Song Wenruo's scheme to seize the Qin Family's fortune. The two Divine Fist Sect disciples subsequently poisoned Han Qingyue and her relatives, intending to exploit the incapacitated family 41 42.

Qin Jiu arrived at Han Mansion, killed Ruan Chen and Song Wenruo, then executed Han Qingyue and the remaining Han Family members. Qin Xuanzhou later removed the family's wealth from its secret vault and disposed of the bodies 42 43.

• Han Zheng — Family head during the marriage-alliance negotiations; survived the first demon attack but was later decapitated during an ambush against the County Magistrate's group 5 36.
• Han Qingyue — Eldest daughter of Han Zheng; refused marriage to Qin Jiu to pursue martial arts, later cooperated with the plan against the Qin Family, and was executed by Qin Jiu 7 41 42.
• Han Zongyuan — One of the Han Family's prominent members and an Inner Strength martial artist; died protecting Han Zheng during the demon attack 6 7.
