Outside the Vanke Dream City residential complex, a nine-man warrior squad advanced slowly. Every member of this squad was at least a Low-Level War General, with two High-Level War Generals accompanying them.
"Hm? That's the sound of a snake—and a powerful one at that."
Among the nine, an old man with graying hair spoke up.
A snake tail as thick as a human waist lashed out like lightning toward Ji Yun and Luo Feng, while the intact head on the right bit at the two Indian warriors wielding curved blades. The two Indian fighters leaped five or six meters high in a flash, grabbing onto the window railings of a nearby residential building. The snake head, however, refused to let go, crashing into the building and collapsing a weathered load-bearing wall, nearly burying them alive.
The thick snake tail whipped toward Ji Yun, but instead of fear, Ji Yun felt delight. This Double-Headed Black-Line Snake clearly hadn't realized the full force Ji Yun could unleash.
Ji Yun focused his breath, dragging his spear forward. When the tail was just a few meters away, he twisted his body, unleashing 3.2 times his strength in a single thrust. A swift cyclone condensed around the spear tip, piercing straight into the snake's tail.
The immense impact drove the spear tip at incredible speed, and the gathered wind only accelerated it further. In an instant, a deep, bleeding wound opened at the point of entry.
The Double-Headed Black-Line Snake writhed in agony, its massive body thrashing wildly. Both heads abandoned the two Indian warriors and lunged straight at Ji Yun.
"Luo Feng!"
Ji Yun shouted.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Luo Feng hurled two flying daggers.
The Double-Headed Black-Line Snake instinctively sensed the threat of those daggers. It vividly remembered how these blades had wounded its mouth earlier—the pain was searing, and it only fueled its rage.
With a flick of his hand, Luo Feng threw the two daggers. Though it looked like a simple toss, the moment they left his hand, they were seized by Psychic Energy, accelerating to a terrifying speed. The naked eye could only catch faint, blurry streaks of cold light closing in on the snake!
Both daggers shifted course slightly, barely changing direction. Since they moved faster than a sniper bullet, no one else could track the deviation.
Knowing Luo Feng was a Psychic Master, Ji Yun had already formed a plan.
Ji Yun reversed his spear and struck the snake's left, already injured head. The violent shock left the Black-Line Snake unable to dodge in time.
One of the two daggers grazed past the left snake head, but the other struck it directly. From the start of the fight, Luo Feng had now thrown six daggers, all aimed at the left head. By now, that head was drenched in blood, its wounds horrifying.
"Hiss—"
The Double-Headed Black-Line Snake roared in fury. Yet before it stood two humans: one whose strength and speed matched its own, with a sense of wind tearing through the air around him; the other hurling daggers from a distance, which, despite its best efforts to dodge, always found their mark.
"Nice!"
From the snake's flank, the Indian Leader, a bald man wielding an alloy staff, shouted in excitement. As the snake chased Ji Yun, he struck like beating a drowning dog, each blow faster than the last, jabbing viciously at the snake's right head. The snake dared not meet the alloy staff head-on and could only dodge desperately.
The other two Indian warriors, armed with massive curved blades and shields, joined Gao Feng in close-quarters attacks on the snake's body. Their aim was twofold: to prevent the tail from striking Ji Yun, Luo Feng, or the Indian Leader, and to target the snake's vital spot—its "seven inches"!
For serpent-type monsters, the seven inches was a weak point.
Though confident in its defenses, the snake dared not let Ji Yun and the other two strike its vital area. So its tail swung, coiled, and thrashed, doing everything to fend off the trio.
Yet the Double-Headed Black-Line Snake knew its scales couldn't stop Ji Yun's thrusts. The spinning wind blade, once it touched the scales, began cutting through them, several times more effective than a simple stab.
"Swoosh!"
Luo Feng leaped behind Ji Yun and said, "Brother Ji Yun, you and the Indian attack the right head. Make sure it can't move."
"Got it."
Ji Yun wasted no words. He sprang forward, fully unleashing the Conception of Wind, his speed nearing the speed of sound. In the blink of an eye, he was upon the right snake head.
Gao Feng suddenly charged ahead with his shield, slamming into the snake's body several times, carrying a large hammer as he closed in on the left head, using the shield to disrupt the snake's movements.
"Ya!" The Indian Leader let out a low growl, his face flushing red as his blood surged to its limit. For a moment, he seemed like a legendary Buddhist Arhat. The staff in his hands accelerated wildly, and he charged recklessly at the snake, his strikes reaching a peak speed in an instant. Dozens of staff shadows rained down!
Among those dozens of shadows, two slammed hard into the right snake head. The massive head wobbled, dazed, and with a thunderous crash, it slammed onto the ground below.
"Good!"
Ji Yun shouted, his spear moving. He dragged it, leaped, and borrowed momentum from the air, riding the wind for incredible speed. The spear tip even broke the sound barrier, its immense penetrating force driving straight into the right head's eye.
"Pfft." The right snake head was pinned to the ground by Ji Yun. Looking closely, even the flesh around the eye socket was shredded by the wind blades.
Meanwhile, Gao Feng, the hammer-wielding warrior who had stayed close to the snake, roared, "Die!" With all his strength, he swung his heavy hammer. It shot forward like a cannonball, aimed at the snake's left head. The left head dodged, but Luo Feng's eyes flashed. He poured all his Psychic Energy into the hammer, instantly boosting its speed!
Unable to evade, the Double-Headed Black-Line Snake took the full blow to its head. With Gao Feng's peak strength and Luo Feng's Psychic Energy assisting, the impact was immense. The left head went dizzy and collapsed to the ground. It could no longer rise, but its massive body still thrashed wildly. The left head even instinctively bit at Gao Feng!
"Pfft!" A black flying dagger burst from the ground, shooting through a gap in the left head's face straight into the skull!
"Pfft!" The Indian Leader, the bald brute, drove his alloy staff like lightning into the snake's seven inches, pulverizing the spot into a bloody mess! The Double-Headed Black-Line Snake was dead, but its enormous body twitched and convulsed unconsciously, until gradually it lay still.
"Good."
"You take half, we take half!" the bald man said to Ji Yun and Luo Feng.
Ji Yun glanced at Luo Feng and replied, "Fine. Half the scales too."
Then Ji Yun walked over to Luo Feng and Gao Feng, and together they began dissecting the left snake head.
"Brother Ji Yun, your strength is incredible. Can I ask how old you are?" Gao Feng was clearly puzzled. Luo Feng's power made sense—he was a Psychic Master—but Ji Yun was just an ordinary warrior. How could he be so young?
"Eighteen," Ji Yun said with a faint smile. "Surprised I'm so young?"
"Wait. Someone's coming." Ji Yun suddenly looked up, alert, staring in one direction. Gao Feng and Luo Feng, knowing Ji Yun's keen senses, stood up and cautiously followed his gaze.
From not far off, nine human warriors approached, most of them yellow-skinned. The moment they saw the massive snake corpse on the ground, they instantly assessed its value—over a billion. Such immense wealth sparked greed in many of their eyes.
"Please, move along!" the bald Indian Leader said in awkward Mandarin.
Ji Yun frowned, silently watching the nine arrivals. Among them, six wore matching uniforms, along with an old man, a tall white brute, and a mixed-race youth.
"Haha, Gao Feng, you actually teamed up with Indians? Tsk tsk... But it's rare that you managed to kill this Double-Headed Black-Line Snake." The team-uniformed captain sneered coldly. "If you know what's good for you, scram now, and our Thunder Squad might spare your lives. Otherwise... tsk tsk, don't blame us. Oh, this Senior Liu here is our Thunder Squad's captain. And this Mr. Kalon is our vice-captain."
Ji Yun's gaze turned icy. He flicked his long spear, sending it spinning with a few sharp flourishes that produced piercing sonic booms.
The old man and the burly white man both stiffened with seriousness, but the mixed-race man in the middle spoke up.
"This is my first time in City 003. This prey belongs to me. You can leave now." The mixed-race youth said with a smile.
"Whoever dares to take my prey... dies!" The bald, burly Indian leader rumbled darkly. The two Indians beside him, wielding massive curved blades, also radiated murderous intent. Was it easy to kill a Double-Headed Black-Line Snake? First, encountering such a rare mutated beast was no simple matter; second, this battle had been grueling.
"You? Which team are you from?" Ji Yun glanced at the six people behind him, then dismissed them entirely. He could tell the mixed-race youth was the true leader of this squad.
"We are Thunder Squad." The middle-aged captain who had spoken earlier cut in quickly.
"Not bad, two High-Level War Generals." Ji Yun assessed the positions of the nine people and relaxed. He said casually, "I was asking about your identity, the one in the middle. Not you."
"You?" The middle-aged captain bristled with anger.
"My father is Li Yao." The mixed-race youth maintained his smile.
"Vulture Li Yao?" Ji Yun's expression shifted slightly.
"And this young master is?" The old man, who looked like a steward, spoke up before the mixed-race youth could answer. Anyone who knew of Vulture Li Yao likely came from a family with at least a War God background. Provoking a War God-level expert for no reason would be highly disadvantageous for them.
"Ji Yun of Limit Dojo."
Ji Yun nodded. "For the sake of your father Li Yao, I won't make things difficult for you today. You can ask your steward and bodyguard—ask them if they're confident they can beat me, or if they can take out our snipers around us while your two High-Level War Generals keep me occupied."
"Leave now, and we'll have no trouble. If you really try to snatch this prey, Li Yao's name won't save you."
"Uncle Liu." The mixed-race youth looked at the gray-haired old man. The old man studied Ji Yun seriously, then turned and whispered to the youth, "Young master, I can confirm that this young man is a powerhouse approaching or even reaching War God level. He carries an aura of intent—I've only ever sensed such intent from the master. If my judgment is correct, not even our entire squad could escape from him alive."
"A young expert like this must have immense backing, possibly even from Limit Dojo's forces beyond War God level. Since you want to temper yourself, young master, you should act on your own."
The mixed-race youth looked at the old man, then turned to the burly white man. The white man nodded gravely as well. Clearly, the intent pressure Ji Yun exuded was deeply oppressive.
His father had given strict orders—
When entering the Wilderness Zone, he must obey the two bodyguards without question.
"Fine. Let's go!" The mixed-race youth gave the order reluctantly.
Soon, the nine members of Thunder Squad departed.
