Nothing major happened on the fifth day of the Uninhabited Island Exam.
Shiraishi Makoto's group completed three of its regular movement orders. The destination for the remaining random movement order was too far away, and it would not determine the next day's movement range, so the whole group ignored it.
As the days passed, the pattern of Challenges offered by the school began to change. For one thing, there were more Speed Race Challenges that provided basic supplies, while Challenges that awarded points were worth more.
On day five, Shiraishi Makoto's group took part in another Open-Water Swimming Challenge, with separate men's and women's divisions and points as the reward. Shiraishi Makoto and Onodera Kayano took first place in their respective divisions, earning 20 points each.
Thanks to their rapid scoring, Shiraishi Makoto's group climbed to first place in the school by the end of day five.
