When Yuya came out of the Hyuga main residence, Hyuga Nichiyo, the former clan head who was deeply beloved by the Hyuga Clan, personally saw him to the door, his smile never once leaving his face.
"Now, now, Acting Hokage, are you really not staying for a meal with the Hyuga? My clan has a few signature dishes, after all."
Yuya chuckled. "No, no. I still have a lot of things to take care of. I imagine you'd like to see the facilities completed as soon as possible, too, Clan Head.
"Once everything is settled, I'll come by and ask the Hyuga for a jug of good wine. Don't be stingy when the time comes."
"Hahaha! Certainly, certainly!"
Yuya and Hyuga Nichiyo emerged from the inner room, chatting and laughing like old friends. Hyuga Kazuko's mouth fell open in an O.
Since when had those two gotten so close?
Yuya and Hyuga Nichiyo both pointedly ignored Hyuga Kazuko standing off to the side.
Yuya cheerfully said his goodbyes to Hyuga Nichiyo, and the two once again promised to hold a proper celebration once everything was settled.
As soon as Yuya had left, the smile disappeared from Hyuga Nichiyo's face.
With both hands tucked into his sleeves, he watched Yuya's departing figure, lost in thought.
"C-Clan Head, Grandpa?" Hyuga Kazuko stared at the old clan head, who had changed expressions as if by magic. Hadn't they just been getting along like old friends?
Why did the old clan head look like that the moment Yuya left?
Hyuga Nichiyo turned to Kazuko, his expression softening slightly before hardening again.
"Kazuko, come here. Grandpa wants to ask you a few things."
Hyuga Nichiyo asked Kazuko about everything she knew about Yuya. She didn't know much, only remembering how he used to stir things
