Chapter 21: Fearful Flame: Arthur's True Colors Exposed
Target: 'Fearful Flame' Wizardry Information: One of the indispensable cornerstones of Legacy Wizardry, classified as Low-level Wizardry. Details: Gather Fire Element Particles to form Energy Flames with intense radiative properties. Every flame will inflict devastating damage upon living creatures.
The Legacy Wizardry Book contained more than just Hephaestus's Wrath. There were also two Mid-level Wizardries and three Low-level Wizardries.
Wang Ya spent the entire afternoon immersed in studying this Supernatural Knowledge.
He did not take part in the Sea Beast Hunt. As for the missing food, Harak only needed to head out to sea once to meet their daily needs.
Drawn in by the Wizard Knowledge, he even had the urge to remain in his room and cultivate in seclusion.
"Fearful Flame, Fire Elemental Energy Shield, Scarlet Heat."
Once he mastered the Supernatural Knowledge of these three Low-level Wizardries, he could proceed to study Mid-level Wizardry.
Step by step, it was far less difficult than learning a single Mid-level Wizardry on its own.
It was like assembling a shape from puzzle pieces. Add more pieces afterward, and it would become more perfect upon its original foundation.
Wang Ya set down the Legacy Wizardry Book without looking at the Supernatural Knowledge that followed.
You had to eat one bite at a time. The foundational Wizard Knowledge alone already left Wang Ya struggling greatly.
Without studying the various supernatural courses at a Wizard Academy, some specialized knowledge was difficult to comprehend.
It was not as though he had no solution. He rubbed his forehead to ease his fatigue, his pupils shimmering with fine blue light as they fixed upon the Legacy Wizardry Book.
Notice: Analyzing 'Fearful Flame' Wizardry. Estimated completion time: seven days.
One week was not long. The Iron Hide Steel Claws cultivation wizardry had taken roughly the same amount of time.
For now, he could conclude that Low-level Wizardry only required seven days for the Eye of Truth to analyze.
All that remained was to wait.
Shaking out her damp hair and wringing out the hem of her clothes, Anna swept her gaze over the Wizard Freshmen on deck, ignoring the looks directed her way.
She was somewhat surprised that she had not seen Arthur for a full two days.
Could her words have crushed him so thoroughly that he no longer even had the courage to appear before her?
Anna did not dwell on it. This was better. That ugly, hideous face would no longer buzz around her like a mosquito.
She still needed to discuss restarting the Wizard Exchange Meeting with Arthur.
Proud as she was, of course she would never take the initiative to seek him out. At most, in another day or two, he would surely be unable to resist coming back to find her.
She was certain of it!
This was Anna Karina's confidence and discernment.
She had not seen that bit of seasoning either. Perhaps he was still out at sea hunting Sea Beasts. Anna shook her head. He had not gone to Wizard Tuta to change his Beginner Wizardry—did he still think he could complete the cultivation wizardry? She had already made the warning this clear. If he could not seize the opportunity, then he could bear the consequences himself.
Her mercy would not appear a second time.
For no reason at all, Anna felt lonely. On the entire Wizard Ship, all that remained were Wizards of Low Aptitude. Not a single one caught her eye. She could not even find someone to speak with, someone with whom she shared a common language.
As time turned, three days passed.
The freshmen aboard the Wizard Ship finally noticed that something was wrong.
The restart of the Wizard Exchange Meeting brought many freshmen's memories back to the days when Arthur had spoken and laughed with ease.
When they turned their attention to Arthur, they discovered that he had not shown himself for four or five days. He had not appeared at the Automated Restaurant either.
Wizards were living beings. They had to replenish their energy; they could not possibly go without eating.
Anna was certain that something had happened to Arthur.
There was no response when she knocked, so she decisively kicked the door open.
A foul stench of sweat rushed at her, mixed with the Foul Odor from the unwashed bathroom.
Anna swiftly shut the door, her brows tightly furrowed and her expression ugly. He was not in his room—then where could he have gone?
He could only have met with misfortune. The odds were even greater that he was dead.
"What a hassle. Is the Wizard Exchange Meeting going to be put on hold?" She needed such a method to seek out new targets who could offer her assistance. But she could not accept being like meat on the chopping board, enduring the disgusting gazes of these Low-level Wizards.
A Worried Expression appeared between Anna's brows. She first went to the Automated Restaurant and spoke of Arthur's situation, immediately causing quite a commotion.
This was not like that night, when everything had been dark and without order or control.
A Wizard Freshman with Top Aptitude had gone missing. Everyone needed an answer.
Wizard Tuta had established the rules and order. The moment Anna set one foot upon the red carpet, terror filled her eyes. She hurriedly stopped and withdrew her leg. She had sensed the threat of death.
Behind her stood the Wizard Freshmen who had followed along.
Anna bowed toward the area at the end of the red carpet, shrouded in Umbral Darkness, and spoke respectfully. "Respected Wizard Tuta, I am Wizard Freshman Anna Karina. There is an extremely important matter I wish to report to you."
The Captain's Quarters had been almost completely destroyed in the aftermath of that battle.
A curtain of Umbral Darkness had replaced the original walls, ceiling, and structure. The aged figure lay within it. Whenever strands of Umbral Darkness entered his withered body, some of the foreign Radiated Energy remaining in his wounds dissipated.
Wizard Tuta slowly opened his eyes. They had never been so dim, so lifeless, so filled with exhaustion.
He could not give the Wizard Freshmen outside the answer they wanted, but the rules and order had not been violated.
He no longer had the energy to concern himself with matters beyond his control. With a slight frown, he spread his Mental Fluctuation outward.
"The rules and order aboard the Wizard Ship could not have been violated."
The words were brief, but their meaning had already been made clear.
Anna and the Wizard Freshmen present still had their doubts. If the rules had not been violated, then how exactly had Arthur disappeared?
The most likely possibility was that one of their fellow travelers had acted. Toss the body into the sea, and naturally no one would ever know.
But Wizard Tuta's fairness was beyond question!
"Wizard Tuta said no one on the ship could have done it. But what if it happened outside the ship?" A Newborn Wizard's words startled everyone present. During the time spent hunting Sea Beasts.
"Of course, Arthur had lost an arm. If he encountered a Supernatural Lifeform, or a particularly vicious Sea Beast, it is not impossible that he died during the hunt."
The matter was thoroughly settled.
A dead man who had lost all value would not make the living care much.
All they wanted was Wizard Tuta's response regarding the rules and order.
As time passed, the matter was gradually forgotten even in the memories of the Wizard Freshmen.
As for Wang Ya, he had long anticipated this outcome. The boundless sea could conceal countless things.
"Seven days have finally passed."
With excitement, he received the analyzed Supernatural Knowledge of the 'Fearful Flame' Wizardry.
