Zhan Liu was away for only a few days this time. Normally, without his Magnetic Field Acceleration, everyone's cultivation progress should have remained more or less unchanged.
But Tony casually pulled his hands apart, and a long electric arc appeared, leaping freely between them.
Zhan Liu took one glance and knew that this electric snake-like arc was at least ten thousand volts. It was countless times stronger than the little earthworm he had produced when he first started a few days ago.
When he saw Tony's smug expression and the way he clearly wanted to show off, he immediately understood.
"You used technology to accelerate your cultivation?"
Tony looked at Zhan Liu in surprise, then said smugly, "That's right! It only took me one day to assemble a cultivation accelerator. Then you saw the results yourself. How amazing are they? As expected, I'm a genius!"
"Not bad. You really are a genius. You grasped the essence of cultivating Ultimate Limit Qigong so quickly, and even managed to build an accelerator."
Zhan Liu did not begrudge praising the smug Tony, but as his master, he could not neglect the reminders Tony needed.
"Tony, the accelerator may be useful, but you must understand that the core of cultivation lies in the will. Only with a strong enough will can you transform Current Drive into Magnetic Field Rotation."
"Besides, I told you all this on your very first day. Using scientific methods may let you advance quickly, but your will is not tempered during the process. In that case, your realm is nothing more than a rootless duckweed. Once you fight another War God, you may very well be overturned despite having the advantage."
He spoke seriously, but Tony did not care in the slightest. He casually waved his hand and said:
"I'm not going to the battlefield. What does winning or losing have to do with me? Who am I? I'm Tony Stark! A billionaire, the owner of Stark Industries, and a genius scientist. The military can handle wars. There's no need for me to get involved."
Seeing Tony's expression that said war had nothing to do with him, Zhan Liu merely smiled without saying anything.
The Tony of now was still a playboy. He had never experienced a spiritual awakening. Getting him to shoulder the responsibility of a hero and save the world would probably be harder than killing him.
"Since you're not going to the battlefield and you're not interested in martial arts, why are you practicing this?"
Tony's expression suddenly turned lecherous. He slyly put an arm around Zhan Liu's shoulder. "Master, listen to yourself. What man doesn't want to be a little 'stronger'?"
Judging from his animated expression alone, it was obvious that his "stronger" was meant in no respectable sense.
Zhan Liu rolled his eyes at him and said irritably, "You're probably the first person to practice martial arts for something like that, right?"
"But I definitely won't be the last." Tony waggled his eyebrows. "I've given you a living advertisement among high society. Soon, a whole crowd of wealthy men will come here. By then, this place will become a gathering spot for the upper class..."
"Hmph. One lecherous War God like you is enough! If a few more appear, my sect will become indecent along with them."
Zhan Liu snorted coldly and ignored Tony's glib tongue.
"Fine. They can come if they want, but you know my rules. I don't accept anyone who can't speak Chinese."
"Uh..." Tony's words caught in his throat. He had actually forgotten about that. But he immediately thought of a solution. "Then let them use translators like mine."
"I have no objection if they make and assemble their own. But buying someone else's won't do." Zhan Liu rejected him outright. "Your translator is the crystallization of your wisdom, and a unique method of learning for you. If other people can accomplish the same thing through their own intelligence, I'll recognize it as their shortcut too. But spending money doesn't count."
"Don't be so rigid. This is New York, the center of the world. The suckers here still have quite a bit of power... though not as much as I do." Tony tried to persuade him.
"I'm not begging them to come."
Zhan Liu was not about to indulge the bad habits of the rich. Likewise, he did not believe that these people could enter the Magnetic Field Rotation Realm or provide him with any meaningful assistance.
Tony curled his lips and shrugged. "Fine, then. What a shame. You've missed your chance to integrate into high society."
"Put away your arrogance, Tony. If you can't see through appearances, you'll forever be shackled by the empty fame of the outside world, and you'll never enter the ultimate realm of Magnetic Field Rotation."
Zhan Liu patted Tony on the shoulder and stared into his eyes. "Tony, I have very high hopes for you. I hope you can break through the cultivation limit of the Fifty Heavens of Ultimate Limit Qigong. Don't disappoint me, Tony."
Otherwise, you'll be useless.
Tony fell silent for a moment, then instinctively began avoiding the subject.
"Hey, Master, don't make this so sentimental. You're not some gorgeous woman, so don't look at me with such passion."
"You know me. I'm a genius. It's only the Fifty Heavens. Just watch me turn it into Five Hundred Heavens."
"It's good that you have that confidence. But first, you still have to cross the threshold of the First Heaven. Don't boast a storm and then get stuck in the Current Drive Realm."
Zhan Liu gave him a malicious smile.
"If that happens, I've prepared the 'Way of the Second Son' for you."
"What way?" Tony's translator clearly could not translate those words.
"You can't understand it by relying only on translation. Go teach yourself Chinese!"
Zhan Liu tossed Tony aside and continued explaining the key points to the many disciples. After all, there were few people like Tony who could fully comprehend everything after only a few explanations. Most people would develop more or less some doubts during cultivation.
That was when the importance of having a master became clear.
With a renowned master like Zhan Liu guiding them, not only could all the disciples' problems be resolved, he could also offer them a broader perspective and extend their understanding, widening the paths of their future cultivation and reducing the difficulty of learning by who knew how much.
Inspired by Tony's example, these disciples worked even harder. Combined with the accelerating effects of the magnetic field, several more disciples should be able to enter the Current Drive Realm within three months.
He was handling serious business when Tony came over again to bother him.
"Master, there's a party tonight. Let's all have some fun together!"
Zhan Liu glanced at the disciples, whose minds were beginning to wander, then glared unhappily at Tony and scolded him:
"Go sit somewhere cool and stay there. Don't disturb my teaching. Having this kind of entertainment once or twice occasionally is fine, but don't let your head be filled with semen."
He then warned the others, "Don't see Tony doing this and assume that you can do it too. You must understand that you're different. The fact that he entered the Current Drive Realm so quickly doesn't mean that you can cross that threshold within three months as well."
"I made myself perfectly clear before. If you can't enter this realm within three months, you'll never become official disciples in this lifetime."
Among the disciples, some took his words to heart, while others nodded submissively on the surface but clearly did not pay them any real heed.
Modern people were all very confident. They believed that if someone else could do something, they could do it too, never realizing that many things had already been decided by nature.
Still, a master could only lead one through the door; cultivation depended on the individual. As long as Zhan Liu fulfilled his duty as a teacher, that was enough. No one could make decisions for them about which path they would take in the future.
