"Great work, Wentworth!"

Dumbledore said as he gave Wentworth a hug. Then his gaze fell on the latest concept model of the Firebolt in Wentworth's hands.

"I think I should write you a letter of recommendation for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. It would be a shame to waste such a fine Broomstick—or your talent as a Seeker, Wentworth."

Wentworth stroked the Firebolt in his hands as he thanked him.

"Thank you for the recommendation, Headmaster Dumbledore. I just hope to make the Hufflepuff Quidditch team on my own merits, rather than relying on a Broomstick."

Dumbledore looked a little surprised by Wentworth's words.

"No, Wentworth. You don't need to be so hard on yourself. Sometimes, we need to learn to make use of more powerful things!"

"I once had a friend who was already a very accomplished wizard, but he still went to great lengths to find a wand that could make him even more powerful."

As he spoke, Dumbledore stared intently into Wentworth's eyes. But Wentworth seemed not to notice, replying calmly,

"Headmaster Dumbledore, your friend must have become an accomplished wizard first, and only then sought out that wand—not found the wand first and become an accomplished wizard because of it!"

Dumbledore was taken aback by Wentworth's answer, then suddenly burst out laughing. As Wentworth watched him laugh, he was at a loss to understand why. But then three people approached from behind Dumbledore, immediately catching Wentworth's interest.

"Good day, Headmaster Dumbledore. This is my son, Draco Malfoy. He'll be attending Hogwarts next year."

Lucius approached Dumbledore with Draco and Narcissa, speaking with considerable respect.

"Oh, what a handsome young man! I'm sure he'll become an excellent wizard, Lucius!"

Dumbledore replied politely.

Just as Lucius was about to exchange a few more pleasantries with Dumbledore, a cannon boomed.
