The Great Toad Sage rallied the Shinobi World against Houka, turning the confrontation into a choice between resisting an invading god and siding with the Divine Children. Houka answered the toad’s provocation by summoning Ryuchi Cave’s fighters and absorbing Naruto Uzumaki and Gaara, while a Yellow Flash attacked his arm.
Houka’s forces and the resurrected shinobi clashed after Minato’s first attack failed, while Houka revealed abilities that could consume powerful souls and imitate an Otsutsuki. The Six Paths Sage realized Houka might belong to the clan his mother feared most.
Houka sent Demon Merry to hold off Hagoromo and Hamura while he pursued the Great Toad Sage. Demon Merry attacked the brothers and began turning Konoha’s surroundings and people into demonic puppets.
As Houka’s clone fought the Six Paths Sage and Hamura Otsutsuki in Konoha, the Great Toad Sage fled to destroy the Loulan Dragon Vein and its Space-Time Passage. Houka realized his true body was waiting at the passage and sent it a warning, leaving the Great Toad Sage racing toward an unknown danger.
Houka stabilized the Dragon Vein passage, sent eight clones into the Naruto World to seize its power and treasures, and ambushed the Great Toad Sage at the Loulan Ruins. The Great Toad Sage was left unable to resist as Houka drained its luck and crushed it with lightning and Conqueror’s Haki.
Houka returned from the ruins of Loulan after capturing the Great Toad Sage and joined the battle in Konoha, where he overwhelmed the Otsutsuki brothers and began capturing powerful souls. The chapter ended with Houka turning his attention to Uchiha Madara, Hashirama Senju, and the other legendary souls.
Houka overwhelmed Uchiha Madara and argued with the Six Paths Sage about how the Shinobi World should be governed. The Six Paths Sage offered to hand over the world if Houka would protect it, but Houka demanded his Rinnegan, and Hamura’s refusal made war inevitable.
Houka rejected the Six Paths Sage’s offer to withdraw and attacked him, driving the fight away from Konoha as the other battles continued across the battlefield. Orochimaru kept Tsunade contained while Hiruzen Sarutobi struggled against Shamrock.
Chiyo led the Sand Village fighters to support the Divine Children, while Orochimaru saved the defeated Hiruzen Sarutobi from Shamrock. Might Guy opened the Gate of Death and unleashed a devastating attack on Lu Ya, leaving the battle at its most dangerous point as he launched Night Guy.
Might Guy killed Lu Ya with his Gate of Death strike, then died after clashing with the enraged Divine Children. Lu Ya awakened his Gear Five: Sun God form, and Houka’s eyes appeared across the sky as a godlike presence descended over the Shinobi World.
Houka's clones attacked the Akatsuki in Amegakure as the Eye of Heaven's arrival spread terror across the Shinobi World. The clones trapped Amegakure and began fighting Pain's forces, while other villages faced new invasions and Konoha's defenders lost hope.
Houka descended, healed the Ancient Moon brothers, and punished Lu Ya for his reckless charge into battle. He then seized Tobirama Senju and Minato Namikaze, tortured them for threatening his children, and left the shinobi forces pleading for mercy.
Houka left Hashirama Senju with the Divine Children and took several souls before departing to pursue the Six Paths Sage. Shanks and Shamrock attacked the Sarutobi clan, and the chapter ended with Shanks preparing to strike Asuma Sarutobi.
Shanks defeated Asuma Sarutobi and Konoha's ninja submitted, while Houka's clones overwhelmed the Akatsuki. Houka pressed toward Nagato's hiding place as Konan prepared a massive explosive attack, and Kisame was left ready to surrender.
Houka overwhelmed Uchiha Itachi and the Akatsuki members, defeating Itachi’s defenses and genjutsu before taking his eyes. The chapter left Houka with three Mangekyo Sharingan while Itachi lay defeated and Kisame accepted that he had lost.
Houka defeated Uchiha Itachi, forced Deidara, Kisame Hoshigaki, and Sasori of the Red Sand to surrender, and pursued Pain. Nagato summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to attack Houka’s Thunder Cage, but Houka’s clone reached him and demanded the Rinnegan.
Houka defeated Nagato and took the Rinnegan, revealing that Uchiha Madara had placed restrictions on them. He left Nagato alive with replacement eyes while Konan rushed toward the scene.
Houka’s forces captured jinchuriki across the Shinobi World while the Hidden Stone mobilized to pursue them. At the coastal battlefield, Houka merged with his clone, took control of the Nine-Tails and One-Tail, and cornered the Six Paths Sage, who realized Houka wielded the power of a world.
