One Year Later

Su Zhe had miscalculated.

He hadn't expected that repairing a spacecraft would take so long.

When Babata told him that fixing the ship would take nearly a year, Su Zhe had no choice but to wait.

But waiting didn't mean sitting around doing nothing.

He used the time to study the Blacklight Virus and deepen his comprehension of his own concepts.

He had improved too quickly earlier.

It wasn't that his foundations were unstable, but his grasp of the manuals, Force Application Techniques, and other skills still had considerable room for improvement.

Babata's arrival had helped Su Zhe address all of that.

"Su Zhe, are you willing to join the Yunmo Star Lineage and become my master, Hu Yanbo's disciple?" Babata asked solemnly.

"I'm willing."

Su Zhe nodded without hesitation.

Come on, why wouldn't he take advantage of free resources?

As Su Zhe saw it, joining the Yunmo Star Lineage had nothing but benefits. The resources left behind by an Undying who had barely reached the Marquis Immortal level would mostly go to Luo Feng, but even what remained would be worth far more than the entire fortune of an ordinary World Master.

With those resources as his starting capital, Su Zhe could improve his strength quickly.

All he would have to do in return was deal with the enemy of the Black Ink Star Ship, Demon Hand King, once he grew strong enough.

Compared to the threat Demon Hand King posed, he had more reason to worry about Earth's secrets being discovered in the future.

All in all, it was a deal that left both sides very satisfied.

Babata had gained a supremely talented Special Lifeform disciple for the Yunmo Star Lineage, while Su Zhe had gained the resources of the Black Ink Star Ship. Both sides thought they had come out ahead.

Babata was overjoyed. He began telling Su Zhe about the Black Ink Star Ship's origins and passed all its inheritances to him in one go, just as he had done when training Luo Feng.

After arriving at the Black Ink Star Ship,

if Babata hadn't stopped him, Su Zhe would have wanted to try devouring the few corpses of Undying Divine beings aboard the ship right away!

Of course, the Blacklight Virus and Void Devouring Flame would probably struggle to digest Undying Divine Power at their current level.

"So you won't get many resources."

Babata explained this to Su Zhe.

"It's fine."

Su Zhe was quite optimistic.

"One of those Undying corpses is an enemy's, right? I'll take that one."

Even an Ordinary Immortal's corpse was worth a great deal—its value had to be calculated in Hunyuan Units. But Su Zhe was more interested in what he would gain from devouring an Undying corpse.

"There are seven corpses aboard the Black Ink Star Ship. One is a World Master-level skeleton, and the other six are Immortal Level." Babata continued, "Of the six Undying corpses, one belongs to an Undying from the Machine Race."

"My master's servant was part of the Yunmo Star Lineage. I won't let you devour his corpse."

"But... can you even devour an Immortal Divine Body from the Machine Race?"

Babata sounded doubtful.

"My devouring ability isn't limited to flesh and blood. I can devour metal, plants, and other things too, though the effect is a little weaker." Su Zhe explained, "Once I reach the Domain Lord or World Master level, I might be able to start trying to devour Undying corpses."

"Then all right."

Babata nodded.

He felt he owed Su Zhe something, but there was nothing he could do. The Black Ink Star Ship simply didn't have many resources left. Most of them were in the bank account Hu Yanbo had left behind, and only Luo Feng, who had received the Soul Seal inheritance, could access it. No one else could.

So Babata thought that once Luo Feng got his hands on the funds, perhaps he could buy some powerful lifeforms' flesh for Su Zhe to devour.

Just as Luo Feng was about to strike back, a voice rang out in both their minds.

"Luo Feng, Su Zhe!"

Su Zhe and Luo Feng stopped fighting. Luo Feng immediately asked, "Babata, what's got you so excited?"

"The auxiliary power system is ready!" Babata exclaimed. "I've installed it. We can enter the universe at any time!"

"It's finally ready?"

Su Zhe's eyes lit up.

He had no idea how long he'd been waiting for this moment.

He should have been ready to enter the universe a year ago, but since the spacecraft wasn't repaired, he'd been forced to wait an entire year!

Still... it wasn't as if he had gained nothing during that year.

After studying the martial arts manuals from the Black Ink Star Lineage, Su Zhe's Force Amplitude was now on par with that of the universe. His strength, speed, and defense could all be amplified, and the amplification had reached nearly twentyfold.
