"That bastard... he didn't leave any room for negotiation. What on earth was he born into this world to do!"
The resurrected Wesker gritted his teeth and clenched his fist, slamming it down onto the floor with such force that it left a crater in the marble. The strength of his clone body was just as formidable.
Being killed by that man without a single word spoken filled him with immense humiliation, as if he were merely a piece of bread to the other, his only purpose in existence to serve as sustenance. After all, no one bothers to talk to their food before eating it.
Furthermore, although he could be resurrected, the agony experienced at the moment of death was transmitted along with his memories into the new clone shell—a burden not easily borne by the average person.
Just then, a red, translucent projection of a young girl suddenly appeared out of thin air before him, her expression as cold and robotic as a machine.
It was the Red Queen, the supercomputer of the Umbrella Corporation. She controlled all the company's core secrets, vital facilities, and biochemical alerts; one could say she was the physical embodiment of this massive base.
The Red Queen possessed superior logical capabilities, capable of calculating the occurrence of various risks, and even possessed a certain degree of self-awareness.
However, under her programmed constraints, she was required to obey the orders of Wesker and the boss.
"You finally decided to show up. Have you still not identified that guy's identity?" Wesker asked coldly as he donned his signature black trench coat, handed to him by a mechanical arm, and pulled his iconic sunglasses from his pocket to put them on.
The Red Queen replied in a tone equally devoid of emotion: "Negative. That man's identity cannot be found in any database from the old era. If he was born after the apocalypse began, it would be impossible for him to have grown into his current twenty-year-old appearance within ten years."
"You have no data on him at all?"
Wesker was stunned by this. He recalled the satellite surveillance from earlier, which showed the man descending from the sky and landing directly into the zombie horde, with no prior trace of his existence.
Could this guy really have been sent by God, or perhaps a humanoid weapon dropped by extraterrestrials...
After all, the abilities this man displayed could no longer be categorized within the realm of Earth's carbon-based life forms.
"Then have you analyzed the composition of the virus in his body?" Wesker continued to ask.
"Not yet, though there is indeed a virus present within him. However, it does not fall under any category of virus known to our company. This virus is extremely aggressive and possesses high rates of fission and reproduction. It devours all matter it comes into contact with, including inorganic substances—it even dissolved a glass rod. This form is somewhat similar to the G-Virus, but potentially even more potent." The Red Queen truthfully reported the results of her short-term study on the fragments of Xia Tianming.
At the same time, she projected a holographic recording of the zombie outbreak in the laboratory next to the Safe House to help him understand what had transpired.
Before Wesker could finish watching the recording, the Red Queen suddenly cut the feed and switched to the current location of Xia Tianming, who was standing before a heavy metal door.
As Wesker watched the surveillance footage, he felt a strange sense of familiarity with the place.
Wait...
Isn't that right outside the door of the Cloning Hall where he was currently located?!
How could he possibly know about this place?!
BANG!!!
Suddenly, the metal door was struck heavily from the outside!
A massive fist print bulged outward from the metal!
In the surveillance footage, Xia Tianming had morphed his arm into Hammer Fist Form and was pounding on the door with a thunderous roar!
He really was right outside the Cloning Hall!
"Why didn't you warn me sooner that he was coming?!" Wesker roared at the Red Queen in shock and fury, watching as the metal door began to buckle; it wouldn't take many more hits from that monster outside to bring it down.
The Red Queen replied in her emotionless, synthesized voice: "After he killed and consumed you, he destroyed the hidden surveillance lines and security alert devices along his path, making it impossible for me to pinpoint his exact location. It is as if he is intimately familiar with every program within this base."
Hearing the Red Queen say this, Wesker found it hard to believe.
Every security facility and surveillance camera in this base had been personally deployed and inspected by him, the Chief of Security. Aside from himself, no one should be this knowledgeable about every security measure in the base.
And before this, the man hadn't shown any signs of being familiar with the base at all—not until he had consumed him...
Could it be...
Every person he consumes has their memories seized and possessed by him? That is how he was able to destroy all the hidden surveillance lines along the way and locate this highly concealed Cloning Hall...
Just as Wesker was beginning to grasp the full picture.
BOOM!!
With a deafening crash!
The door to the Cloning Hall was completely blown open. The heavy metal door flew into the hall like a cannonball, smashing and toppling several cloning tanks. Lifeless Wesker clones spilled out onto the floor along with a massive amount of pale green nutrient fluid.
Wesker stood frozen, his eye twitching as he watched the silhouette of that man gradually emerge from the swirling dust.
He was like a ghost clinging to one's soul, always appearing in a way that made one's scalp crawl, impossible to shake off.
"Are you able to obtain our memories by killing us? What exactly do you want..."
Wesker swallowed hard, stood up from the floor, and asked through gritted teeth, proactively removing his sunglasses.
The prerequisite for wearing sunglasses was that one's strength was absolutely superior to the opponent's—they were for posturing.
If he couldn't beat the other guy, wearing sunglasses that obstructed his vision would only make the beating he was about to receive even worse...
Xia Tianming, as usual, was a man of few words and did not answer him. His cold gaze swept across the Cloning Hall.
There were nearly a hundred Wesker bodies here, each one capable of providing him with 2,800 points of Blacklight energy.
If he consumed them all, that would mean 280,000 points of viral energy—he wondered how many times that would allow him to break through the Blacklight Threshold!
As he looked at the room full of "Weskers," the Blacklight Virus within him began to boil with insatiable hunger.
"Red Queen, initiate the special self-defense protocol! Blast this bastard into smithereens!" Wesker growled with a ferocious expression.
No sooner had he spoken than the Red Queen's holographic projection raised her right hand. Near the entrance, ten fully automatic Gatling heavy machine guns extended from the hidden walls. Each one featured twelve pitch-black barrels, capable of a firing rate of 36,000 rounds per minute!
If ten Gatling guns were to open fire simultaneously, they could instantly blast any living creature into pulverized shreds of flesh!
The Special Self-Defense Mechanism was a unique backdoor program Wesker had installed for his own protection; it would identify every living being inside the room—except for himself—as an enemy, even including those shareholders!
The ten Gatling guns locked onto Xia Tianming had already begun to hum as they accelerated and warmed up, ready to unleash a torrential storm of bullets in a single second.
At such close range, there was no one who could dodge them!
Wesker's bloodshot eyes bulged as he sneered, "This time, even with wings, you won't be able to escape! Let's see if you can still come back to life after being shredded into meat paste!!"
