In Alice's hand was a DNA-shaped spiral vial filled with T-Serum, which could completely eradicate bioweapons viruses.
The people behind her were companions she had met in the bioweapon-ravaged wasteland. Some were police officers, some were agents, and some were ordinary civilians. A few had even once belonged to Umbrella Corporation's secret U.S.S. unit!
But now, they all had the same goal: to stop Umbrella Corporation's inhumane "Extinction" plan!
Through various channels and by interrogating the company's personnel, they had used their abilities and pulled every string they could to finally reach this rocket base.
But the rocket had already been activated and was in the middle of its launch countdown!
They had been prepared for a bloody fight, but discovered that there wasn't a single staff member in the enormous launch facility. There was only a man with his face hidden by a hood, quietly seated on that strange black throne.
Though they couldn't see his face, they could vaguely sense his gaze beneath the hood, fixed on them. For some inexplicable reason, they felt an intense pressure bearing down on them!
Chris Redfield frowned, his expression darkening. "Quit the theatrics!"
With that, he pulled a heavy sniper rifle from his back, braced the stock against his shoulder, and aimed at his target from a standing position!
Only someone like Chris, who had served in several special forces units, could manage that!
After locking the crosshairs on the seated man's forehead, he pressed down on the trigger with his fingertip!
Bang!
A thunderous gunshot echoed through the launch facility!
Chris's lips curled into a smile. He lowered the smoking barrel, ready to watch the man's head explode.
But the sight before them left everyone stunned!
The man's skull hadn't been shattered by the sniper round as they had expected. Instead, a tentacle had extended from the throne behind him at some point, coiling around the bullet. It stopped less than a fist's length from Xia Tianming's forehead...
Then the tentacle released it. The metal bullet, crushed by tremendous force, clattered to the floor with a sharp ringing sound that seemed especially jarring in the sudden silence.
After a brief stunned pause, everyone tensed up and immediately took their positions!!
"What the hell is that tentacle? It can catch bullets???"
"This guy's not normal either! Did Umbrella create another monster?!"
"Could he be a virus-fused superhuman like you, Alice?!"
The group broke into a cacophony of voices, but they didn't stop moving. One after another, they drew their weapons and prepared to fight.
Xia Tianming remained seated calmly, watching these "protagonists" put on their panicked little show.
There were only 90 seconds left until the rocket launched—one minute and a half.
They had to stop it within that time and keep it from carrying the virus into the atmosphere, where it would detonate.
They didn't know that the T-Virus inside had been replaced with the Blacklight Virus, but it made little difference to them either way.
Alice turned to Chris, Leon, and several others who were quick on their feet. "It's probably too late to abort the launch, so we'll have to destroy the rocket outright. We can't let it get into the sky! You brought explosives, right? Blow up the rocket boosters. I'll deal with him!"
She was the only perfect T-Virus fusion in the group. She had abilities far beyond the norm—and could hardly be called an ordinary person anymore.
The others didn't object. They immediately rushed toward the rocket.
Alice's eyes filled with murderous intent. She drew two Nepal Machetes from the sheath strapped to her thigh, both still stained with dried blood, and advanced toward the man!
Seated on the Virus Throne, Xia Tianming heard their conversation with his keen senses. There was still a little time before the rocket launched. He might as well have some fun with these "protagonists."
Just as the group reached the halfway point to the rocket, Xia Tianming's pupils suddenly flickered black. From the hole in the wall he had smashed through came a series of bloodcurdling roars!
A huge horde of Blacklight Zombies burst through the wall and charged at Chris and the others as they tried to destroy the rocket, blocking their path. Their pupils were pitch-black, and tentacles writhed all over their bodies!
These Blacklight Infected were Umbrella employees and soldiers Xia Tianming had run into at various bases while taking a "shortcut." He had infected them on the way.
The sudden appearance of so many zombies—and of an infection they had never seen before—left Leon and the others stunned. They hurriedly raised their guns and opened fire!
These "protagonists" were excellent shots. The skills they had honed while struggling to survive in the apocalypse meant they hit the head almost every time!
But this time, they weren't facing ordinary zombies. They were facing Blacklight Zombies infected by a virus from another world!
Even with their heads blown off, the Blacklight Zombies could keep moving and attacking, driven by the Blacklight Virus. The only way to stop them was to shoot off their limbs too!
That meant they were burning through ammunition at twice the rate. Before long, Leon and the others were pinned down by the fast, resilient Blacklight Zombies, with no chance to break away and destroy the rocket boosters!
The countdown showed 80 seconds remaining.
Watching this, Alice could vaguely sense that the strange man seated on the bizarre throne was controlling the zombie mutants she had never seen before.
She wasted no more time. Gripping both blades, she charged at Xia Tianming at a speed to rival Wesker's, determined to take him out first!!
Before Xia Tianming could move, the Blacklight Throne behind him writhed with tentacles and thrust them at Alice like a volley of spears!
As the only ultimate T-Virus fusion, Alice's reflexes and senses far surpassed Wesker's.
Before the tentacles could reach her, she dodged in the blink of an eye, then swung her Nepal Machetes and sliced them down!
But two hands couldn't fend off a hundred. Dozens, then hundreds, of tentacles stabbed at her one after another. Even a single scratch would let the Blacklight Virus invade her body in an instant!
Just as Alice began to lose ground, her eyes suddenly flew open, her scarlet pupils blazing fiercely like flames!
The hundreds of Blacklight Tentacles about to pierce her body abruptly veered aside, as if blocked by an invisible force!
Alice had unleashed her telekinesis!
Her ultimate fusion with the T-Virus had granted her this fantastical ability. But using telekinesis took an enormous toll on her mind and could easily leave her unconscious.
Still, she couldn't afford to worry about that now. Once the rocket launched into the sky, all their efforts would be for nothing!
