Putting the Cart Before the Horse

Gu Yuena's eyes lit up. She felt she had discovered a path straight to the heavens.

Ao Zhan's mouth twitched slightly. "Uh, Na'er, what you said does make sense, but that's all it does."

Ao Zhan rolled his eyes. "Think about it. After gathering the Alien Energy of every Mystic Beast in the Douluo Plane, you or Gu Xiaoran, as the leader, would indeed become invincible. But the sources of your energy—Di Tian and the others—would still be your weakness. It would be fine if you encountered an enemy with poor mobility, but what if they were highly mobile?

"If the enemy refuses to face you head-on and instead goes around to attack Di Tian and the others, what then? They've already given all their Alien Energy to you or Gu Xiaoran. Even if they can recover, that takes time. When the leader is at their strongest, they are at their weakest.

"Or take an enemy like the Evil God King. What if he uses mind control on Di Tian and the others, manipulates their evil thoughts, and tampers with the energy transfer? Wouldn't the leader be finished? That's why this kind of formation can only be used against opponents who lack mobility and don't have special attack methods."

He did not mention the Cloud Bat Formation's weakness, because strictly speaking, it could not really be considered a weakness. Under normal circumstances, no one could still fight after taking a full-powered blow that gathered everyone's Alien Energy.

Unless the enemy was already incredibly powerful. But once someone reached that level, it no longer mattered whether the Cloud Bat Formation had weaknesses, because they could resolve everything with ease anyway.
