Background

Gu Yuena originated when the Asura God split the Dragon God into the Golden Dragon King and the Silver Dragon King during the Dragon God War. She inherited the Dragon God's Creation Godhead and control over seven elements, while the Golden Dragon King inherited the Dragon God's physical body and Destruction Godhead. 29 58

Unlike the Golden Dragon King, who was imprisoned in the God Realm, Gu Yuena fled to the Douluo Continent with the surviving Di Tian. During her escape, the Asura God struck her with a sword, severely wounding her. She subsequently concealed herself in an independent spatial domain beneath the Lake of Life in the Star Dou Forest, where she recuperated for hundreds of thousands of years. 29 41 58

According to her own account, the Asura God used approximately half his power in the strike. Gu Yuena had not prepared a defense because she was concentrating on escaping, and she lacked the Golden Dragon King's exceptional physical durability. Poseidon later confirms that she possessed God King cultivation from birth, although he does not know her current strength. 58 442

During the era of an advanced Soul Tool civilization, Gu Yuena recognized that its weapons were too powerful for her to confront while severely wounded. She ordered Di Tian and the others to withdraw to the Lake of Life's core region, isolated the surrounding space, and entered slumber. When she awakened, that civilization had disappeared and Evil Soul Masters had become widespread. Her faction later provided some assistance to the Angel God in eradicating them, since they had also slaughtered many soul beasts. 289

Gu Yuena first approached Ao Zhan through a phantom projected from a silver scale. Though astonished by his Azure Dragon martial soul and overwhelming dragon might, she remained courteous and proposed cooperation against the God Realm. Ao Zhan initially refused to enter the Star Dou Forest, suspecting that her invitation could be a trap. 29

After Martial Soul Hall and the Mystic Beast Clan formed an alliance, Ao Zhan personally healed Gu Yuena. His life force purged the Asura Divine Power that had obstructed her recovery, restoring her confidence and allowing her injuries to heal completely soon afterward. 41 58

She later accompanied Ao Zhan and Di Tian to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, where they discovered the remains and remnant souls of the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings. Gu Yuena explained her origins to the two Dragon Kings after their revival and helped introduce them to Alien Energy. 52 57 58

Appearance

Gu Yuena is a peerlessly beautiful silver-haired woman with amethyst-like purple eyes. Her human form is frequently described as elegant and composed, though she may display silver dragon horns and a silver tail when taking on a more draconic appearance. 29 41 330

Gu Yuena is composed, politically shrewd, and highly conscious of the Mystic Beast Clan's long-term survival. Although she lowers her posture when negotiating with Ao Zhan, she does so pragmatically, recognizing both his superior dragon bloodline and the value of an alliance against the God Realm. 29 41

She is capable of great sincerity toward those she trusts. Her gratitude toward Ao Zhan for healing her wounds and aiding the beast race develops into open affection, which she pursues directly despite Qian Renxue's hostility. 79 111

Her pursuit of Ao Zhan also reveals a calculating side. She establishes a beast-clan strategy to form a deep personal bond with him, uses Qian Renxue's feelings to lower her guard, and patiently positions herself for a place beside him. 79 111 120

Gu Yuena can be playful and affectionate with Ao Zhan, but she is ruthless toward enemies. When confronting Tang San and Xiao Wu, she seals their escape, forces Tang San to kneel and kowtow, and cruelly torments both of them in retaliation for the future she learns they would bring upon the Mystic Beast Clan. 344 390 391 393 394

She deliberately favors psychological suffering over simply killing Tang San, recognizing that hurting Xiao Wu before him is especially effective. Her enthusiastic account of the torture surprises even her allies, and Gu Ningqiu briefly finds the normally doting Gu Yuena frightening. 393 396

Despite her status and confidence, Gu Yuena remains deeply attached to Gu Xiaoran and recognizes her elder sister's authority. Gu Yuena seeks an alliance with Ao Zhan against the God Realm, offering the full support of the soul beast race because she believes her people have nothing left to lose. Ao Zhan's successful healing of her injuries establishes trust between Martial Soul Hall and the Mystic Beast Clan. 29 41

During their initial negotiations, she reveals that the Angel God has fallen and argues that Martial Soul Hall will inevitably become the Asura God's enemy. She also warns that Ao Zhan's extraordinary dragon bloodline will attract the God Realm's hostility, making cooperation a practical necessity. 30

When Ao Zhan prepares a formation to baptize bloodline power into Alien Energy, Gu Yuena volunteers to test it first. Her participation establishes that the method works on a being with divine power as well as on soul beasts with soul power. 50

Winning Over Ao Zhan

Gu Yuena creates a beast-clan plan to secure an intimate bond with Ao Zhan, reasoning that the Mystic Beast Clan needs a connection comparable to Qian Renxue's relationship with him. She eventually confesses that she fell for him after he healed her and helped her people. 79 111

Her advisers, Di Tian, Gu Yanchen, and Gu Hanche, study human courtship and imperial palace competition to develop their approach. They recommend sincere expressions of affection, patience, and avoiding a direct confrontation with Qian Renxue. Gu Yuena even offers to accept the position of concubine when Ao Zhan raises his existing relationship as an objection. 111 112

She strategically encourages Qian Renxue to confirm her relationship with Ao Zhan, expecting that this assistance will make Qian Renxue less guarded toward her. Gu Yuena remains vigilant about possible interference by the God Realm or unknown forces, particularly where Gu Ningqiu and the Star Dou Forest are concerned. She also helps lead efforts to spread Alien Energy among the soul beasts of the Far North. 125 126 128

During conflicts involving Divine High Priests, she organizes Spirit City's evacuation and defense, trusting that Ao Zhan can defeat the attackers while she and Gu Xiaoran protect the city. 272 273 311

When seven Divine High Priests become directly empowered by their gods, she identifies the additional divine backers and reassures Ao Zhan's worried allies. Rather than rushing to the Star Dou Forest, she remains in Spirit City to guard against a possible surprise attack and creates a water mirror through which the group can watch the battle. 311

On the Sun Moon Continent, she withstands Evil Emperor's spiritual attack without injury and reveals that she is Di Tian's master. Her presence helps establish the dragon faction's authority during Ao Zhan's efforts to introduce Mystic Beast transformation there. 291

Conflict with Tang San and Xiao Wu

After learning a future in which Tang San exploits and subjugates the Mystic Beast Clan, Gu Yuena develops intense hatred toward him. 344

When Tang San and Xiao Wu flee the Sea God Church, she tracks them through Tang San's Sea God aura, seals the surrounding space, and reveals herself as the Silver Dragon King and ruler of the Star Dou Forest. Tang San actually identifies her as the Silver Dragon King before she introduces herself, surprising her. 390 391

She humiliates Tang San by forcing him to kneel and kowtow, then tortures Xiao Wu and permanently disfigures her face to challenge Tang San's claim that he loves Xiao Wu beyond her appearance. 393 394 395

Her treatment of Xiao Wu uses Alien Energy-defined flames and water from the Lake of Life's source to alter the soul itself. The resulting appearance is treated as natural rather than as an ordinary injury, preventing conventional divine restoration. 395 398

Gu Yuena further punishes Tang San by carving the characters “handsome” and “brother” into his face before returning him and Xiao Wu to the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace. 396

Her account of the punishment shocks her companions and gives the Super Beast Team and Golden Team a new understanding of her ruthlessness. Later, Poseidon says that Tang San's facial wounds can be healed, but warns that doing so may provoke Gu Yuena into inflicting worse injuries. Unlike Xiao Wu's soul-altering disfigurement, the obstacle to restoring Tang San's face is therefore the threat of retaliation. 396 442

Gu Yuena also participates in the discussion of Xiao Wu's accusation that Ao Zhan killed her mother. The group concludes that Xiao Wu's memories have been altered by the hidden mastermind associated with the gods' schemes. 408

Reconciliation with Gu Xiaoran

After spending an extended period traveling with Ao Zhan while Gu Xiaoran remained in Spirit City, Gu Yuena is confronted by her angered elder sister. Gu Yuena acknowledges that she has wronged Gu Xiaoran and submits to a disciplinary punishment rather than using her immense power to escape, ultimately reaffirming the sisters' bond. 379 464

Gu Xiaoran takes her to their shared bedroom and seals it with an energy barrier. The punishment involves restraint, tickling, and spanking, eventually leaving Gu Yuena unconscious from laughter. Ao Zhan later checks on her and confirms that she has not been seriously harmed. 464

Later Tournament Appearance

Gu Yuena appears alongside Ao Zhan, Qian Renxue, Gu Xiaoran, and the Snow Empress during their later entrance at the tournament. Tang San and Xiao Wu continue to regard her with intense hatred because of her earlier treatment of them. 505
