Poseidon had lost a hand, and Asura Divine Power still lingered in the wound. The strength he could bring to bear was severely limited.
If he dared make demands of Wind God and Fire God, the two of them could bring every Elemental God to blockade his Divine Temple once this was over.
The thought alone was terrifying.
Hearing Poseidon, Food God glanced instinctively at Asura God. Asura God gave an almost imperceptible nod, and Food God's confidence surged. He immediately tore into Poseidon. "You shameless old lecher, Poseidon! You've got some nerve talking! Wasn't this whole mess part of your Successor Plan? Are you saying I should pay the price?"
"I'm telling you, forget it! Either you pay to ransom them, or Tang San and the others can all die here! Oscar was only ever a pawn to me. If I lose one pawn, I can find another!"
Poseidon's face darkened. He had never imagined that a mere Second-Level God—one with no fighting ability at that—would dare speak to him this way.
He was about to curse Food God out when Asura God spoke. "Food God has a point. Poseidon, this is your price to pay."
With Asura God weighing in, Poseidon had no way to argue.
Then he spotted Ao Zhan up in the treetops, and his eyes lit up. "You don't get to decide that. Ao Zhan is the one holding them. If he doesn't agree, it won't matter what price you make me pay."
"Actually, I agree." Ao Zhan's sudden reply made Poseidon cough up a mouthful of blood.
What?!
How can you agree?!
I'm only a First-Level God. What could I possibly have that's worth taking?
