Background / History
Tang San is not the original soul of his current body. After the infant body’s death, the Asura God sent the future Tang San’s soul backward through time and placed it in the child. He retained memories of his future life as a dual God King, but lost his former power and entered the new era as an infant. Ao Zhan detected the resulting time-space disturbance and immediately recognized him as a reborn future God King rather than the Tang San originally intended for the Asura God’s plan. 23
The Asura God and Sea God Poseidon are Tang San’s known divine backers, though they are themselves only part of a larger, unidentified arrangement surrounding him. The Asura God originally selected Tang San as a pawn to oppose Martial Soul Hall, inherit divine power, and bear the burden of faith, while intending for Xiao Wu to improve Tang San’s compatibility with Asura Divine Power. 5 240 317
From childhood, Tang San displayed knowledge and behavior that alarmed Tang Hao. He cultivated using an unfamiliar sunrise technique, developed purple eyes afterward, and practiced movement arts Tang Hao had never seen. Tang Hao considered the possibility that his son had been possessed by an evil soul master. 96
Before awakening his Martial Soul, Tang San relied on Tang Sect techniques and hidden weapons. His attempts to defeat Qi Kuang and Huo Linfei failed because they could use Alien Energy without Martial Soul awakening, leaving Tang San repeatedly humiliated and determined to seek revenge once he gained power. 94
At Holy Soul Village, he awakened Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power, then disclosed his second Martial Soul, the Clear Sky Hammer, to Tang Hao. Tang Hao subsequently treated Tang San as his hope for revenge against Martial Soul Hall. 97 99 102
Following the failure of his expedition for the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Tang San learned that the well had vanished from Sunset Forest. He incorrectly attributed its removal to Gu Yuena and deduced that it had been concealed in the Star Dou Forest; in reality, Ao Zhan had moved it and never placed it there. 298 299 303
Appearance
Tang San’s appearance is closely tied to his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. Before its removal, the bloodline could transform him into a notably handsome man; after Ah Yin stripped it away, his appearance deteriorated sharply. 217 218
- After losing the bloodline, he had dark, rough skin, withered yellow hair, and a coarse-looking face. 217
- The Sea God Trial placed a sea-blue trident mark on his forehead. 243
- His first Martial Soul changed from Blue Silver Grass into broad, sea-blue Sea God Kelp. 244 245
- Gu Yuena later carved the words “Handsome” and “Brother” onto his face, further humiliating him before the Sea God Church’s members and elders. 396 400
- Tang San began concealing the branded face with a mask, but Gu Ningqiu shattered the mask during Shrek’s match against the Golden Team, exposing the markings to the public. 440
- Poseidon considers restoring Tang San’s facial injuries easy, but initially refuses because Gu Yuena could simply disfigure him again or retaliate against Poseidon. 441 442
Personality
Tang San is deeply convinced that he is the central figure of the continent’s destiny. He views Ao Zhan, Huo Linfei, Qi Kuang, and other deviations from his former life as “variables” that have disrupted the future he believes should belong to him. He expects his experience as a former God King to eventually let him reclaim control of events. 161 212
He is calculating and opportunistic, using Yu Xiaogang to steer Shrek’s expedition into the Star Dou Forest in pursuit of the Eight Spider Lances and later deducing a likely location for the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. 212 300 He can also be highly resentful: defeats, slights, and humiliation repeatedly fuel his desire for revenge against Ao Zhan, Huo Linfei, Qi Kuang, Ah Yin, Gu Yuena, and others. 94 217 305 315 391
Tang San is willing to manipulate or eliminate perceived threats to secure his interests. During the Soul Master Tournament, he regarded Shi Nian’s continued presence as a danger and considered having him removed, while also viewing matches against rival academies as opportunities to collect intelligence and vent his resentment. 345
Despite his pride, Tang San is protective of Xiao Wu and loyal to Tang Hao. He defended Tang Hao when Ao Zhan accused him of plotting against Ah Yin, and he repeatedly places himself between Xiao Wu and danger. 26 230 However, after his humiliation in the Star Dou Forest, he briefly took his anger out on Xiao Wu for failing to comfort him before later apologizing. 316
Following Shrek’s loss to Gu Ningqiu and the public exposure of his branded face, Tang San’s vanity and inability to accept humiliation escalated into fantasies of killing nearly everyone on the continent, altering the survivors’ memories, and replacing reality with a fabricated heroic account of his life and ascension. 440
Abilities & Skills
Reborn God King’s Knowledge
Tang San possesses memories from his future existence as a God King, giving him familiarity with divine powers, major figures, and events from his prior life.
- Recognizes Nirvana Lightning as a derivative of the Destruction God King’s power. 242
- Initially knew advanced Sea God techniques, though abilities such as the Sea God’s Thirteen Halberds could not be freely used without a suitable trident Martial Soul or divine weapon. 94 243
- Uses his future knowledge to plan for resources such as the Eight Spider Lances and Immortal Herbs. 212 300
- Identified Gu Yuena as the Silver Dragon King despite her not revealing that identity to him. 391 392
- His retained memories do not compensate for his reduced physical strength and lack of former divine equipment. 94 243
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San initially possessed Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. His first Martial Soul was later remade into Sea God Kelp, while the Clear Sky Hammer was ultimately replaced by the Blood Sea Trident. 244 354 355
- Blue Silver Grass — Used for restraint and battlefield control through Blue Silver Entanglement. 161
- Clear Sky Hammer — His original second Martial Soul and inheritance from Tang Hao; he unveiled it during his battle with Yu Tiankuo. 99 246
- The Clear Sky Hammer had no soul rings during that battle, and Tang San’s weakened body could only swing it a limited number of times. 243
- Yu Tiankuo’s Thought-Piercing Void severely damaged the hammer, leaving a finger-sized hole through it and injuring Tang San. 247
- During the Soul Master Tournament, Tang San was unable to lift the enlarged Clear Sky Hammer after pouring excessive Soul Power into it, as his body remained frail after losing the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. 349
- Blood Sea Trident — His replacement second Martial Soul, created through Asura God and Poseidon’s intervention. It controls blood in a manner analogous to the Sea God Trident’s control of the sea. 354 355 358
Tang Sect Arts and Hidden Weapons
Before gaining a Martial Soul, Tang San’s practical combat methods consisted primarily of Tang Sect techniques.
- Uses hidden weapons, including a self-crafted Sleeve Arrow. 94
- Employs Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track for evasive movement. 242
- Can launch hidden weapons while maneuvering and simultaneously deploy Blue Silver Grass. 242
- His hidden weapons and footwork were insufficient against opponents using Alien Energy before his Martial Soul awakening. 94
Sea God Kelp
Poseidon transformed Tang San’s weakened first Martial Soul into Sea God Kelp and began the Nine Sea God Trials. 243 244
- Kelp strands possess enhanced toughness through sea-blue divine radiance and can withstand Nirvana Lightning better than his weakened Blue Silver Grass. 245
- It remains a top-tier Martial Soul rather than a super Martial Soul. 245
- The first Sea God Trial required the conclusion of his battle against Yu Tiankuo, with a God-Bestowed Soul Ring offered as the reward. 245
- Tang San initially disliked the kelp form but accepted it because rejecting Poseidon’s gift could risk losing divine support. 244 245
- His third soul skill, Spider Web Restraint, forms a tough web of Sea God Kelp to restrain opponents. 348
Blood Sea Trident and Divine Slaughter’s Domain
After the Clear Sky Hammer repeatedly proved too heavy for his weakened body, Tang San petitioned Poseidon to replace it. The Asura God authorized the transformation and had Divine Slaughter’s Domain awakened alongside the new Martial Soul. 354 355
- Blood Sea Reaches the Sky — Releases a wave of blood from Divine Slaughter’s Domain through the Blood Sea Trident. 358
- Divine Slaughter’s Domain — A domain associated with the Blood Sea Trident that was ultimately suppressed by the Evil God Team’s combined Evil Domain. 358
- His killing intent toward Gu Yuena amplified Divine Slaughter’s Domain by 30% during his battle with Shui Bing’er. 404
- The trident allowed Tang San to fight using techniques similar to those of his former Sea God Trident despite lacking attached soul rings. 358
- After absorbing Rakshasa Divine Power, the Blood Sea Trident became stronger. 423
Sea God’s Thirteen Halberds
Tang San can employ the Sea God’s divine halberd techniques through the Blood Sea Trident, drawing on knowledge retained from his future life. His immediate proficiency alarmed the Asura God and Bo Saixi, because Poseidon had not actually taught him the technique. 359 360
- Used Unfixed Storm and Millennia of Vast Emptiness against the Evil God Team. 358 359
- Later used the Sea God’s Thirteen Halberds to help Shrek defeat the Fire God Team and Wind God Team during the tournament. 371
- Tang San publicly claims Poseidon taught him the halberd techniques; Poseidon subsequently ordered Bo Saixi to support this explanation. 366
- Tang San intends to continue training the skill in preparation for a future battle against the Super Beast Team. 366
- During his match against Shui Bing’er, her aerial Ice Phoenix Arming and continuous ice attacks prevented him from completing Unfixed Storm. 404
Strategy and Deception
Tang San frequently relies on planning rather than direct force.
- Proposed hiding in Nuoding City because “the most dangerous place is the safest,” persuading Tang Hao to abandon their planned escape. 104
- Concealed his true ability at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy by using spirit power to create the impression that he was weak. 208
- Planned the infiltration of the Star Dou Forest’s core region with Tang Chen and Bo Saixi. 300 303
- Investigated the Super Beast Team’s unusually restrained match against Skywater Team and planned to search Ao Zhan’s hotel while Ao Zhan was absent. 384
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Sleeve Arrow — Tang Sect hidden weapon crafted and worn by Tang San. 94
- Hidden weapons — Used alongside Tang Sect firing techniques during combat. 242
- Storage Soul Tool — Worn at his waist and used to access hidden weapons. 242

- Ah Yin — Mother. Their relationship becomes openly hostile after she strips away Tang San’s Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. 217 218
- Xiao Wu — Lover and closest companion. Tang San is strongly protective of her after her identity as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft Bone Charm Rabbit becomes known; their relationship is repeatedly tested by his emotional outbursts and Gu Yuena’s torture. Poseidon later promises to restore Xiao Wu’s disfigured face after Tang San asks him to prioritize her treatment. 161 230 316 393 442
- Yu Xiaogang — Teacher and mentor. Tang San treats him with outward respect and shares details of his Sea God inheritance with him. 105 251
- Ao Zhan — Principal adversary. Ao Zhan discovered Tang San’s reborn identity and repeatedly interferes with, defeats, and humiliates him. 23 305 347
- Asura God — Patron who arranged Tang San’s rebirth and chose him as a chess piece. Although Tang San’s compatibility with Asura Divine Power is limited, Asura intends for him to inherit the divine position and altered his second Martial Soul into the Blood Sea Trident while secretly monitoring him through it. 23 240 354 360
- Poseidon / Sea God — Divine patron who grants him the Nine Sea God Trials and Sea God Kelp Martial Soul. Poseidon later participated in transforming Tang San’s Clear Sky Hammer into the Blood Sea Trident and protects the claim that he taught Tang San the Sea God’s Thirteen Halberds. Although sympathetic to Tang San’s disfigurement, Poseidon fears provoking Gu Yuena and initially refuses to heal his face directly. 243 244 355 366 441 442
- Tang Chen and Bo Saixi — Allies who accompany Tang San during his expeditions for Immortal Herbs and attempt to rescue him from Ao Zhan and later support his investigations. 300 305 384

- Yu Tiankuo — Rival and inheritor of the Destruction God King. Tang San challenges him to prove himself but is defeated after his Clear Sky Hammer is damaged; Yu Tiankuo later defeats Shrek again during the Soul Master Tournament. 240 247 348 349
- Gu Yuena — The Silver Dragon King and ruler of the Star Dou Forest. Tang San regards her as a major enemy after she sealed Xiao Wu’s Teleportation, forced him to kneel and kowtow, and disfigured him. 391 393 396
- Lu Mingfei and the Evil God Team — Tournament opponents who defeated Shrek despite Tang San’s use of the Blood Sea Trident and Sea God’s Thirteen Halberds. Tang San became enraged after Xiao Wu suffered spiritual injuries in their match. 358 359
- Shui Bing’er — Skywater Academy’s leading combatant and a Spirit Hall affiliate. She recognized Tang San’s attempt to use Sea God’s Thirteen Halberds, exploited her aerial advantage over his ground-based trident fighting, and trapped him in an explosive ice attack. 404
- Gu Ningqiu — Golden Team member whom Tang San had dismissed in his former life. Her solo defeat of all seven Shrek members and destruction of Tang San’s mask left him severely humiliated and contributed to his mental collapse. 440
