The layout of every corridor in the maze was more or less the same. Dong Xiwen stood between the doorways, staring fixedly at Heyi, who was kneeling on the ground. At last, his gaze settled on the enormous statue of The Scales projected behind her.
That was his sin, and it would ultimately kill the girl. Likewise, the girl's sin was pursuing him from behind, and it would soon kill him too.
The relentless mirror drew closer and closer, replacing the bricks in the wall behind him. Transparent arms swayed leisurely like jellyfish tentacles.

There was still a long while before the countdown reached zero, but his stamina was already failing. Dead ends lay before them all; without a turning point, they would eventually die to each other's sins.
"Kill me." Heyi moved close to Dong Xiwen as she spoke, pressing her back against his to wedge herself in the doorway and shield him from the mirror's reflection.
The girl's eyes drooped at the corners as though she were crying. "It caught me and made me answer a question. I only had five minutes... I saw the monster's description. Whether I answered or not, I would die..."
"Don't give up so easily, hey! If I kill you, then there'll be nothing left! Let's quickly switch places and block each other's sins for a while. Maybe we can hold out a little longer!" As Dong Xiwen spoke, he spread his arms to block The Scales drawing ever nearer, looking as ridiculous as a mother hen.
"If it really comes down to it, we can both do death rolls and Thomas flares. I refuse to believe those sins would dare attack us at the risk of hurting the Players they correspond to..."
