Source Substance flowed bit by bit into the mental structure of Lu Zhiyu. He felt his mental power growing once more, gradually reaching the limit of what he could sustain during each meditation session. If he pushed any further, he would be assimilated by the Zero-Dimension World. At this moment, Lu Zhiyu felt as though his mental power could no longer be retracted; it had undergone a violent transformation within the otherworld, churning like boiling water.
Lu Zhiyu felt his mental power and his own will beginning to blur, the two existences starting to merge. Every strand of mental power was now branded with Lu Zhiyu's mental imprint, as if, having broken through this stage, his mental power could now contain the entirety of his will.
My will is actually beginning to fuse with my mental power. Has the current intensity of my mental power reached the point where it can carry my consciousness?
Previously, although Lu Zhiyu possessed mental power, his will, thoughts, memories, and emotions were all appendages of his brain. His mental power was merely a derived sensory ability and a set of tentacles; it did not represent Lu Zhiyu as an individual.
But from this moment on, Lu Zhiyu could attach his will to his mental power, allowing it to carry his consciousness and intent. However, this was merely a fleeting thought that flashed through his mind; it was currently only a possibility, and Lu Zhiyu had yet to attempt it.
Once this transformation of his mental power was complete, Lu Zhiyu immediately withdrew it from the Zero-Dimensional Otherworld, and his entire being returned to a normal state.
Lu Zhiyu stood up from his bed. In the instant his mental power underwent its qualitative change, he had associated it with many things, especially one crucial point: attaching his consciousness, personality, and memories to his mental power. If he could achieve this, it would mean Lu Zhiyu had truly stepped into the realm of the extraordinary—a truly transcendent power.
In truth, human intelligence has an upper limit. Each person's brain has the capacity for about 500 million books, but this must also include your daily memories, the images you see, the sounds you hear, and your subconscious; these things already occupy the majority of the brain's storage capacity! Therefore, you have no way to store an unlimited amount of the knowledge and information you desire.
Furthermore, for every neuron in the brain, the reaction time required from receiving a signal to being stimulated and firing a signal is nearly 0.1 seconds. Human intelligence and the speed at which the brain processes information are capped by this 0.1-second limit; every problem you think about requires you to wait and linger within this 0.1-second window.
If one could break through the brain's limitations, store information without limit, and increase the brain's information processing speed to 0.001 seconds or even higher, would that not mean one could complete in a minute the calculations and thinking that previously took a whole day? Human intelligence would break through its limits.
Lu Zhiyu was somewhat excited: "How can I attach my consciousness and will to my mental power? Human consciousness, emotions, and memories are stored entirely within the brain. If I want to act, I can only start from the brain. What if I use my mental power to leave an imprint on every cell in my brain?"
Lu Zhiyu acted as soon as he thought of it, immediately beginning to experiment. His mental power instantly invaded one of his brain cells. Upon leaving a mental imprint within it, Lu Zhiyu immediately felt a connection form between his mental power and this cell. It was as if he could control it at will; even if he were to strip it away, Lu Zhiyu could still sense its existence.
"It really is feasible!"
Lu Zhiyu felt his mental power surging out from a nameless and miraculous place, gradually invading his brain tissue—no, not just the tissue, but beginning to invade from the cells themselves.
Lu Zhiyu wanted to restrain his mental power, but he found that it was like a dam with a breach; even if he tried his hardest to cover the gap, he could not stop the speed at which it was overflowing. Lu Zhiyu could only focus all his attention on the changes occurring within his brain.
Lu Zhiyu had previously modified his brain once, dividing it into a main brain and a Wisdom Sub-Brain. This time, however, the mental power was different. Lu Zhiyu could feel it invading the core of his cells bit by bit, as if, deep within the cells, it was branding his mind and will onto them, causing every cell in his brain to bear Lu Zhiyu's mental imprint!
Lu Zhiyu discovered that the situation did not seem to be taking a turn for the worse, so he immediately abandoned his attempt to "plug the leak" and allowed his mental power to accelerate the assimilation of his brain. Every cell in his brain was eroded bit by bit. From top to bottom, from inside to out, the entire brain was enveloped by his mental power like a mass of clear water, with every cell being washed and swept by his mental power.
From a realistic perspective, Lu Zhiyu's brain cells showed no changes, but from the perspective of mental power, his entire brain now bore his mental imprint, with every cell fused into one with his mental power.
Lu Zhiyu could feel his brain being thoroughly activated. Countless memories, emotions, thoughts, including his main personality and his Wisdom Sub-Brain program, were all integrated into his mental power. Lu Zhiyu called this the activation of mental power in cells, or simply: Deified Cells!
After the cells were deified, Lu Zhiyu felt as though he could sense every single cell in his brain. Even if half of his brain were destroyed, Lu Zhiyu could rely on the ability of the Deified Cells to restore the other half. This was not just a matter of controlling cells; it was as if every cell represented a part of his own will!
As the brain tissue cells were completely deified, Lu Zhiyu felt a boom in his head, as if something had exploded. His entire being plunged into darkness, and Lu Zhiyu appeared in a peculiar space.
Lu Zhiyu was trapped in a world of pitch-black darkness, where he could see countless pieces of information flowing continuously—these were his memories from childhood to the present. Lu Zhiyu looked up and immediately saw a silver hourglass floating in the air, while he himself had become a white figure of light, standing in this world!
"This is my Mental Space, or perhaps it could be called a Thought Space. The current me is condensed in the form of mental power, or one could say, I have condensed my own soul and become the first existence on Earth to manifest a soul!"
Lu Zhiyu immediately realized that his mental power and brain had completely combined, producing this miraculous change. Lu Zhiyu immediately shouted: "Sub-Brain!"
"Sub-Brain awaiting instructions!"
A translucent frame immediately appeared before Lu Zhiyu. A look of joy crossed his face; sure enough, after the brain was deified, the Wisdom Sub-Brain was also deified, and its capabilities were carried over as well!
"Record the characteristics of mental power, and develop and expand the applications of mental power!"
"Loading!"
A look of joy appeared on Lu Zhiyu's face. Previously, the Sub-Brain could not sense the existence of mental power, nor could it record its fluctuations and characteristics, which had made Lu Zhiyu very passive in developing the capabilities of his mental power!
"Re-categorize and organize all memories, and process data by classification!"
"Establishing a mental power database!"
Lu Zhiyu could feel that his calculation speed had become much faster, nearly doubling. However, there was still a limit, which was likely influenced by the limits of his cells and the limits of his mental power. As his cells evolved or his mental power grew stronger, his brain's calculation speed would only become faster and faster!
Lu Zhiyu rolled off the bed, feeling as though his entire being had become much sharper and more intelligent. His eyes, which were already extremely lively, seemed capable of emitting a glow.
Without even using his mental power, Lu Zhiyu could detect three people passing by outside his door—a waiter and a man and a woman. Based on the sound of their footsteps, he could judge their height and weight. He knew a black man was watching a ball game in the apartment above his, and a couple downstairs was taking a shower before something.
Lu Zhiyu pushed open the window, took a light sniff, and looked at the sky. From the humidity and air pressure, he sensed: "It's going to rain tonight. Hmm, probably in five hours!"
