Return to Jiang City and the Painting Space

Lu Zhiyu was born in Jiang City and suffered from weak lungs and frequent coughing since childhood. After years of work in the capital, worsening smog-related symptoms and illness caused him to resign and return to his long-vacant childhood home. 1

There, he encountered a mysterious painting that he identified as an entrance to a two-dimensional world. After reaching into it and taking an infinity symbol, he gained authority over the world contained within the Universe Scroll. 2

He began shaping the Painting Space as an experiment: stealing fertile soil from Mulan Mountain, creating a sun and moon, and accelerating its time flow to ten thousand times that of Earth. His first experiments introduced insects, which eventually evolved into an intelligent Zerg civilization ruled by multiple Insect Queens. 3 4 11

Creation of Maria World

After the Painting Space expanded into a stable plane, Lu Zhiyu remade it as Maria World, establishing land, oceans, celestial bodies, gravity, air, wind, clouds, and vegetation. Although he could modify its rules through the Universe Scroll, he recognized that the scroll’s authority—not his own understanding—made this possible. 15

He populated the world by collecting plants and animals from Shennongjia, then created new intelligent races through genetic modification. His early projects included the Beastmen, beginning with werewolf cubs cultivated from a hypnotized wolf, and the Tree of Life on the Yala Continent. 16 20 30

Seeking a sustainable source of Source Substance and a civilization capable of generating new ideas, he created the Magic Network. The system allowed Maria World's inhabitants to draw Source Substance from the Zero-Dimension World while diverting sixty percent of the extracted amount to him. 14 52

Earthly Identity and Transformation

Lu Zhiyu initially used his enhanced mental power to examine his own body, identify the cancer in his lungs, and conduct a gradual body-modification program. The process eliminated his cancer, strengthened his physique, and dramatically altered his appearance. 8 10

His later Longevity Serum transformation made his appearance still more delicate and androgynous, while granting him regeneration and a lifespan of more than a thousand years. Realizing that his changed appearance made his original identity untenable, he obtained several false identities, selected Mu Tao as his main persona, and later adopted the English name Anthony. 34 35 36

Wizard Civilization

Lu Zhiyu established the Wizard Tower in the Black Forest to recruit and train practitioners of mental power. He created the Eternity Life Alchemy Ship to transport recruits, personally taught the first generation of apprentices, and introduced spells such as the Body Modification Technique. 60 61 72

After five years of instruction, he graduated the first class and selected eleven outstanding apprentices as disciples and future Tower mentors. Boer later became acting Tower Master, while Lu Zhiyu increasingly withdrew from daily administration. 84 106 154

Divine Systems and Maria World

After becoming a Dream Controller, Lu Zhiyu developed the Divine Art system by distributing Divine Art Seeds derived from his Dream Factors. He later rebuilt Gaia into a Divine Kingdom prototype intended to receive powerful wandering consciousnesses and eventually support both Heaven and Hell. 82 110

While living in the Beastman city of Aier under the guise of a human doctor, he spread medical knowledge, developed trade routes, and adopted Verdandi. He raised her in secrecy under the male identity “Will,” trained her bloodline, and eventually entrusted her with the Sword of Kingship. 112 113 115 127

Later Exploration

Lu Zhiyu continued pursuing silicon-based life, metal cells, extraterrestrial technology, and higher forms of mythical evolution. He recovered an ancient spacecraft from Antarctica, assimilated its defenses, and transformed its optical brain into a Bio-Optical Brain and Semi-Perpetual Motion Engine for the Crystal Wall System. 309 310 312

He also initiated the Truth project as an interstellar colony effort, selecting Gu Chaoran to lead a future civilization aboard the Truth while preparing a race of kin designed for survival and growth in space. 332 333 334

Appearance

Lu Zhiyu originally had a comparatively ordinary appearance and a frail body. His self-modification program transformed him into a tall, physically perfected man; the Longevity Serum later made his features markedly more delicate and difficult for strangers to gender correctly. 8 34 36

He is cautious when his own survival is at stake. Before applying a Mythical Creature Template to himself, he insisted on testing it on other organisms and refused to take risks without a reliable understanding of the consequences. 59

His pursuit of knowledge can override conventional morality. He captures wildlife to populate Maria World, uses living beings as experimental subjects, manipulates minds for practical ends, and treats many artificial beings as tools. 16 35 40

Despite this detachment, he remains emotionally affected by his past and capable of genuine care. He regrets bullying Ai Shu as a child, protects and raises Verdandi as his daughter, heals Setisis without demanding repayment, and values the few old friends he has left. 26 115 196 333
