Background

Shen Sui began as a cash-strapped student with poor theory-exam results. His first Follower Card was [Country Girl Alice], depicting Alice Hozeville as a sixteen-year-old village girl from Andrew City in the Rowling Empire who dreamed of becoming a mage and changing the world. 2

After linking with Alice, Shen Sui falsely told her that he had lost his body and needed materials to reconstruct it. His actual goal was to earn stronger, higher-quality Soul Cards through Alice's gradual development while keeping close watch over her safety. 3

He enrolled at Tianyi Academy and chose the notoriously difficult Dawn Continent Soul Card World. 16 As Alice and his other followers grew, Shen Sui became increasingly invested in the Dawn Continent itself, particularly after acquiring Vivian's diary and resolving to search for Vivian. 79

Shen Sui later discovered that his connection to the Dawn Continent was not limited to ordinary Soul Card Master control. By touching a flaw in the World Barrier, he accessed the interface of Dawn Link and recovered numerous passive buffs associated with his past self. 102

Shen Sui is practical, calculating, and intensely competitive. He sold his own [Fireball Spell] to fund travel for the Duel Exam, then rapidly built his deck through trading, follower development, and tournament rewards. 6 31
