"Stephen, have you been drinking again?" Christine asked sternly.
"What else can I do? I've tried everything, but my hands still haven't gotten any better," Stephen Strange said loudly.
Luo Xia saw Stephen Strange's hands trembling constantly. The movement was slight, but enough to make it impossible for him to operate again.
"Maybe it's time for you to consider giving up," Christine urged Stephen.
"No, this is absolutely not the time to give up. You've seen it yourself—my hands haven't shown any sign of improvement this whole time!" Stephen shouted.
"I know there's a new technique in Tokyo. They can cultivate and upgrade donor stem cells, then use 3D printing to create chromosome scaffolds... But I need money. Just two hundred thousand."
Christine cut him off. "Stephen, you spend as much as you earn. There's no way you can come up with that much money right now. Can't you just give up? Your life isn't only about your career."
"Like what? Are you talking about yourself? You show up here like an old friend asking me out to dinner. We're not friends, and we're not lovers. You just pity me. You've seen too many tragedies in the ER, so you like watching tragedies, like me right now. Then you comfort me while feeling noble, like some kind of savior."
Stephen hurled those vicious words at Christine as though venting his frustration. It seemed he was trying to drive away the only friend he had left.
"I understand. Here's the information you asked me to find. Goodbye, Stephen." Christine tossed a folder in front of Stephen, then turned and walked away without hesitation.
Stephen didn't try to stop her. He simply picked up the folder and opened it eagerly.
Luo Xia zoomed in on the image and saw what was inside.
