Early the next morning, Sarah was waiting outside when Luo Xia came out of his room. Unlike the night before, he now wore a pair of black-rimmed glasses.
Sarah understood at once and smiled. "Master, did you sleep well last night?"
Luo Xia flicked a finger, and Sarah's head started buzzing. The gust of air from his finger had actually made her forehead ache.
"Don't try anything like that again."
He had used his new ability for that flick, but his expression was a little displeased.
Sarah could tell he was genuinely unhappy with her taking matters into her own hands this time, so she quickly apologized. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
"Skye had too much to drink. Let her sleep a little longer," Luo Xia instructed, then headed toward the ambush site they had prepared the day before.
Sarah tiptoed into the room, only to find Skye already awake, sitting on the edge of the bed and staring into space.
Seeing that Skye was fully dressed, Sarah thought in confusion, No way. Did I get it wrong?
Skye, however, looked angry as soon as she saw Sarah. "You lied to me! And I thought we were close!"
At the sight of Sarah's embarrassed, disappointed expression, Skye really wanted to have it out with the beautiful robot. But after thinking it over, she sighed. "Forget it. It wasn't really your fault."
Thinking back to how she had foolishly thrown caution to the wind the night before, only for Luo Xia to laugh for a full ten minutes after hearing what had happened, then demonstrate Lorna and Pietro's abilities right there in front of her, Skye wanted to die of embarrassment.
Lorna's magnetic powers were one thing, but there was no way both Luo Xia and Pietro had something going
