S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Helicarrier was flying toward the island, which surprised Luo Xia. Violet hadn't detected it from the moment it was deployed; she had only picked it up through satellite monitoring after it was already on its way.
"What's going on?" Luo Xia asked.
"Master, S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to have switched to a new system," Sarah reported cautiously.
"Haha, Nick Fury finally realized S.H.I.E.L.D. was riddled with leaks?"
Luo Xia wasn't the least bit angry about it. Violet controlled S.H.I.E.L.D.'s entire system and knew nearly all its secrets. At first, that had given Luo Xia a great deal of convenience. But information had leaked again and again, and intelligence had arrived late time and time again.
If Nick Fury still hadn't noticed, he really would have been an idiot.
Still, Luo Xia couldn't figure out how Nick Fury had bypassed Violet's monitoring and activated another system.
S.H.I.E.L.D. was a massive organization, after all. Changing its system wasn't as simple as reinstalling a computer at home.
Nick Fury stood in the control room of his Helicarrier, his heart bleeding. Heaven knew how furious he'd been when he discovered that someone had taken control of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s entire system, but on the surface, he had to remain calm.
In fact, Nick Fury had suspected for a long time that the system had been infiltrated. To a master spy like him, leaked files and delayed intelligence stood out as clearly as flies on glass.
Fortunately, S.H.I.E.L.D. had prepared for just such a situation long ago. And this time, Nick Fury had help from others, which had allowed him to replace S.H.I.E.L.D.'s entire system.
They hadn't managed to solve the problem completely, but Violet had clearly lost the ability to monitor S.H.I.E.L.D. in real time. And untimely intelligence was often the same as wrong intelligence.
