After this period of development, the number of Mutants under Lorna's command had surpassed a thousand. That figure referred only to those with a certain degree of combat ability who could fully follow orders.
The elderly, women, and children among the Mutants, along with those who couldn't fight or didn't want to, outnumbered them several times over.
After all, being a Mutant was hereditary, and a single Mutant often represented an entire Mutant family. Lorna had grown quite a bit over these past few days. Perhaps it was because of her bloodline, but she learned quickly as a Mutant leader.
Compared with the naive girl who had once approached Luo Xia to ask for protection, Lorna had matured considerably.
Mutants and Inhumans might look similar on the surface, but they were fundamentally different. Mutants identified with one another based on their shared identity, not their abilities. There was little hierarchy among Mutants; the word "fellow" said it all.

The Inhumans' conflict with S.H.I.E.L.D. ran deep, to the point where peaceful coexistence seemed almost impossible. Lorna, however, wasn't going to get too deeply involved in that feud. Instead, when Luo Xia suggested it, she agreed to cooperate with S.H.I.E.L.D.
It was only a very limited cooperation, but it still proved where they stood.
