Wherever the storm passed, whether stone, metal, or Skrulls wrapped in symbiotes, everything was pulverized.

Though symbiotes were merely masses of slime and did not fear being smashed to pieces, their hosts were still flesh and blood. Even with the symbiotes protecting them with all their might, once they were swept into the storm, they could last only a few seconds at most before becoming a lump of minced flesh.

Under such circumstances, even if the symbiotes could survive for a short while, without hosts, they would soon lose their vitality and enter a hibernation-like state.
