The chaos on Nail Island finally subsided. Although the real culprits had not been found, the gangsters and thugs who had taken the opportunity to loot and rob were conveniently rounded up as scapegoats.
Bruce Wayne did not particularly care about this slight miscarriage of justice. He simply did not kill people; it was not as if he had a mental deficiency. Expecting the police to catch the League of Shadows when even he had failed to do so would have been asking the impossible.
So when they used those gangsters and thugs to close the case and muddle through, Bruce Wayne had no intention of exposing them. They were scum anyway, so there was nothing wrong with throwing them behind bars.
Back in the Batcave, Bruce Wayne finally took off his battered armor. His body was covered in bruises and fractures. The fact that he had held on until now was proof enough that his will was as strong as steel.
